Scottesville Elementary School is one of the most family oriented, all together schools we've ever had a child attended. Our family move around a lot and this is one of my sons favorite schools. He's grades improved so much since we moved here, he went from average to great. Anyways, his 2yrs of Elementary went very well and the fact that we came from the City life to Country life has a lot to do with it as well. Less distraction but most of all great staff and good surroundings.

Our school is a great, small school where teachers and staff get to know all of the kids well. The classes are relatively small. Our gifted teacher pushes in to support our classes and help extend the lesson for everyone. There are wonderful evening family events several times a year, and the PTO does a fantastic job supporting the teachers and students. Our Music, Art, and PE classes are taught by caring people who are excellent at what they do. There is a dance/theater production every spring for 4th & 5th graders. We offer after-school tutoring for those who need it. The teachers talk across grade levels to see what has worked for students in the past, and everyone is open to trying something new to do what's best for the students. I have loved being at this school!
