As a member of the Mecklenburg community, I must say that we are very proud of Park View High School. The principal is invested in the school. A graduate and former teacher of the school, he leads and expects the best from both the teachers and the students. He does not settle for less. The teachers possess great knowledge of their subject areas and behave professionally within the school and within the community. Overall, the students represent the school and South Hill area well. Those who have taken advantage of the education offered do well when they enter college or the working world.

I started my career at the school and I couldn't have made a better choice. This school has a supportive and caring staff despite the areas limited resources.

The school is average at best. I was a member of the class of 2005. Our test scores finally got the school accredited with the state and national standards. Depending on the courses you take, you can find very bright teachers that actually nurture a thinking mind. even while using a curriculum that robs us of the ability to think. The leadership system seemed more like a dictatorship than a principal running a school. There aren't many course options. Only 2 secondary languages are taught. If you don't want to learn Spanish or French? Tough luck. Honors classes do provide a bit of a challenge. Not in content but, workload is slightly heavier. Unless you make the Virginia Governor's school, you won't have a hard time with course content. The main negative is just a small town school. 800 kids. Not very diverse. Not a good representation of the real world.
