The school is becoming much better with the atmosphere the new principal is creating. My child is doing very in school
New principal is really making a difference, school academics are improving dramatically as evidenced by state exams and SAT scores coming in. Great atmoshphere and school spirit.
My two children are faring well in college, thanks to the academic program of Loudoun County. They are each placed in upper level courses in both English and Math, even though one child did not place as extremely high as the other in SATs, they are each holding their own and doing great! We experienced Freedom High School from its formative years, and saw the natural negative human reactions to any changes that the principal made, but if you open your minds to it, the changes are based on founded reasons, and not to be taken personally against the principal. Teachers should offer extra credit in order to engage the students into studying the subject material, but please note that extra credit is often not offered in college classes. Suggestion for the Guidance Department to filter in topics of career choices on an every day basis, so these students may be more certain of their academic paths if pursuing college vs. technical paths.
Clean & new building but very poor academically. Not challenging at all. I feel that the kids are not being prepared effectively for the cut throat competitive world outside, that they have to excel in, in order to succeed.
Freedom High School has poor leadership and a very poor math department. Most parents are so frustrated that they have contacted the Principal and her boss but there has been no change.
This a great school I have ever seen before. The teachers and administrators are very dedicated. They really work very hard.
Freedom High School is an excellent school with great learning environment. Teachers and other administrative staff are very helpful. My 11th grades is attending this school and doing really great. One of the best schools in town.
As of now the school is relatively decent, faculty works hard to help students learn (some just for the money). The school being new has some struggles though in the athletic department. Overall though it is a school you would wan to attend each day.
The principal rarley interacts with the students. the teachers have no clue what they are teaching as they are fresh out of college, the extracurricular activities are good but there are not enought parents to help out, and the discipline at this school is unfair and unjust
I think that the school is just okay. it is not excellent, nor is it terrible. Some of the teachers are amazing, others seem to be teaching for the cash not because they want us to learn. I feel the administration is okay, some folks in it though seem like they do not care about the school, and it feels like there is a lack of community at this school. overall it is an alright school, hoever most students at school do not seem to enjoy it. creating a real lack of school spirit with in the school.
I think the school and the teachers forget we have a life sometimes becauase of the work overload..also some teachers take th discipline too far just because thy dont know how to control a class..bt i like a couple of my teachers that can relate to th students and it is nice to hear that from them at times
Freedom is well run and provides an excellant program for all kinds of students. The faculty is very strong and the students enjoy the learning environment.
Freedom High school is fabulous! We came from an overseas DOD school and have very high expectations for our children's academic future. We love the staff and cirriculum and our son just got accepeted to Princton!
It is a good school...needs more work in acknowledging and embracing diversity. People of color soon will a majority group, however, the administration, staff and teachers do not reflect that yet! Parents are truly evolved in making a difference in Freedom High.
The other students and some of the teachers are nice, but the general rules and restrictions on the student body are overbearing. I just don't like it.
This school is a very good school to attend. Students are well disciplined and get a good education, as well as extracurricular activities.
Fairly reasonable school, though as a new school, still working out the kinks with athletic staff and availability of AP classes. Comments sometimes found at 'Loudoun Schools Feedback', at http://www.dullessouthonline.com/loudoun_schools/index.html .
