Having gone through the NY school system most of my life I was very hesitant to send our son to a rural school in what seemed like a forgotten area. What a pleasant surprise it was to walk through the doors of this school and meet the warm upbeat staff and principal. We have paid for private schools, montessori schools and found that this little school has so much more to offer. The PTA this year has really stepped up their game and are striving to bring afterschool enrichment opportunities to the students. You really get the sense that everyone here cares. And as all of us parents know, dropping off a kindergartener can be stressful. Hearing teachers and administrators of every level call our son by name by the second day was such an amazing comfort. I love this place!!
My children are enrolled at Livingston now. My experience as parent with the staff & faculty is superb. My 5th & 2nd grader love being in school. Scope (Spotsylvania County Program of Enrichment) is flop though. Look forward to Middle school. They gifted program there is great. Don t expect the bells and whistles in NoVA area suburb school. There are no after school activities. PTA is moving away from its backward ways. It changed from PTO to PTA [I have nothing against PTO s]. If you are doing what a parent needs to do for your child, this school has the best staff & faculty team to assist your child to succeed.
Out of the 4 schools my girls have attended, I wish we were able to stay at Livingston. I came to this school with many concerns. The Principle made me feel very confident that this was going to be a good move. She was right. After our tour, she answered all the questions I had, and during this time, children would walk by and greet her, some even gave hugs. Ms. R who teaches 2nd grade is wonderful, and Ms. Burgess who teaches 4th was perfect for my oldest. The office staff was helpful and welcoming as well. I also have to say that the bus drivers Ms. Gandy and Ms. Holland were wonderful as well. We really miss Livingston. Respectfully, Sandra Henderson
I think of all the schools that my children have gone to Livingston is the best school. my son has adhd and possible autism, the staff andthe teachers and not to mention Mrs. Ciagle( please forgive me if i spelled it wrong)do a wonderful job with him, and have the most patience i have ever seen . My daughters are also doing well and i am very proud of them. Mrs. Ciagle is one of the best principles i have ever meet.
The school itself is great! The teachers are nice and the admin staff is great. There are unruly kids but that is not the schools fault, I blame that on the parents! the staff can only do so much and the kids know that.
The school is overall, great, but has some problems with controlling kids and bullying.
great school teachers are wonderful they really care about the kids
My son had very personable teachers for his 2nd 4th and 5th grade classes. To me one of the most important things in teaching is a teacher that makes a child believe that they care about how they are doing. My son's teachers motivated him well and worked with him to build his organization.
