I have 1 child in the 5th grade at wilderness Elementray. I have never been so discussed with a school and school system since my daughter transfered from prince william county. The teachers are not helpful and the guidence counselor needs to go back to school and learn how to work better with children. They offer little advanced classes and programs for children. My daughter was always a honor Roll student and after moving to wilderness her grades have fallen due to lack of quailitfied teachers. I can not wait until she can transfer out of that school.
I have 2 children currently at Wilderness Elementary one in 2nd the other in 5th and I have been so pleased with this school over the years. The teachers and principals care about the kids and their success and it shows. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to move to this area.
Wilderness Elem. is a great school. My daughter is in the 1st grade and she loves her teachers. The teachers and school are very in touch with the students and parents. I would highly recommend this school to anyone new within the county.
I'm currently new in the area and it is my 5yr olds first time in school. I think it is wonderful that all children be active in all academics. My son,5 yrs old thought it was great to even have computer lab at his age. To have a variety and involvement in and at the school is fingertips away. All you have to do is say, 'I'll help!.' Not only for your child but, how you can get enjoyment out of it as well. I think as a mother anything is possible. Thanks for the opportunity! Thank you again, sicerely, a mother of a 5yr. old son at wilderness elementary.
I have two children enrolled in Wilderness, one in the first and the other in the third. They have had nothing but wonderful experiences in their years there. The pincipal and vice principal have done a great job running the school. They have formed many Award programs to get the kids modivated and eager to learn. The PTA is very involved in helping the staff in any way they can and also holding special events for the kids. Like carnivals, movie nights, popcorn/pizza parties, and many other events. Wonderful Scool couldn't say enough good things about it. They have two councilors to help children when needed. Scope teacher for the gifted and special teachers to assist the not so gifted. For specials they have Music, Computer, Gym, Art, Library and Spanish.
