Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My daughter just graduated from North Stafford HS and had an awesome 4 years there! The administration and staff really care about the kids. The school spirit there is amazing. We couldn't be happier with her time spent there!

North Stafford High School is amazing. Everyone here at this school bonds like family, it's just such a great community to be in. All the Staffulty cares about everyone and we have the best administration here, it's just amazing. For example, our school does a thing called a "Senior Run" where when you get to be a senior, the first week of school on a Friday all the senior gather all spirited up and run around the entire school! We use whistles, air horns, silly string, etc. and just have a blast. This has been a tradition here at North Stafford, for 11 years. It's also been a tradition to watch the senior run. It's a lot more fun than it sounds. But if you are deciding to go to a Stafford School, North Stafford is the best Stafford!

North Stafford High School is a excellent choice for my child. I was looking for a academically challenging school with a wonderful sports program that offered a lot of clubs and extra activities. This school fit the bill. The teachers and volunteers are amazing and my child and many of his friends thrived in this positive environment. If you live in the area I highly recommend North Stafford High School.

If you live in Stafford - this is the school for you. It's got a great staff of fully qualified teachers and health, safety and law enforcement which makes it an all around Great School. If you want to see Team Work in action - this is where to come. Every program is well thought out and carried out. There are Wonderful learning opportunities available for the kids!! something for everyone. Many offerings of college courses at the high school level.... My daughter studied with Teacher Mr. Johnson and since has gone into the architecture field. His teaching style is enjoyed by everyone in all areas of the architecture field. He is an asset to the NSHS. My daughter graduated last year and is starting her second year of college - Majoring in Architecture. Mr. Johnson and the Art Teachers made the difference!!! She had 6 school college credits carried and accepted over to her University from NSHS. saved me $ !!! I love this school!!!!

I Went There For All 4 Years Of High School, And Honestly I Most Say Everyone Tells Me High School Will Be The Bets Days Of Your Life And I Think There School Was A Worst! The Teachers Were Mean And Had No Respect For Parents. I Found That The Consoulor Did Not Answer My Phone Calls And Did Not Car For What I Care For. These Last 4 Years Was Living Hell!

North Stafford offers the best. Great teachers ensure wonderful students in doing their best! Great administrators enable the staff to perform at their maximum! With that combination, students exceed the standardized test scores. What more can a school have other than those?

This is my first year at North and my sister attended all four years of high school here and this school is by far the best school in the state. The clubs are limitless and more and more are being made each year. There are 40+ sports teams. The technology is advancing each year and this year the new STAT (Stafford Academy for Technology) which looks great on transcripts makes the school even better. I have many friends at all the other schools in Stafford and all are quick to say that North Stafford has a home feeling, like everyone is friends, teachers are quick to help and never turn down a student in need. North Stafford is the only school in Stafford County to have a spirit club, Orange Fever is known for our enthusiasm and hype effect at football, basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, all sports.

North Stafford is a fantastic place to learn. I enjoy going there and learning something new each day, and possibly staying after school for one of the clubs or activities that I'm in. I think North Stafford High School is a great place to be where I can just be myself and hang with my friends.

This school is so great i love the kids and the teachers my only complaint is that they're more athletic centered than academic centered. And some of the leading staff like the new administrators and some office membbers aren't really conducive to a child's environment. There are a lot of activities to get involved in at this school and kids are really enthusiastic about participating.

The school is horrible. Anyone who has a student that goes to this school should have them transfered out immediately. Students who are bullied at this school should tell their parents about the issues they are having because the administration at this school does absolutely nothing!

My daughter started 9th grade at another High School in Stfford and was unhappy with school for the first time ever. As soon as she transferred to North Stafford she fell back in love with school! She is a student leader and plays sports. We love the administration and block scheduling!

I was blessed to have gone to NS for my 9th/ half of my 10th grade year. I loved that school so much! I had a wonderful time at NS, i understood my subjects better at that school compared to my other HS. ANd the grading scale is higher, so when i came to my new HS i was making all A's on their scale..lol. I really enjoyed most of my teachers, they made sure you understood what they were teaching. I wish i could have graduated from there, but im thankful for the time i did spend there.

I attended North Stafford High and loved it! I honestly felt that it was the best school I ever attended my High School career. I learned so much! The teachers are outstanding! I did not have one single 'bad' one. They were all more than willing to put in the time it took to help their students in the classrooms. I want to say thank you for making me see that there are absolutly wonderful teachers in this world!

Has a good amount of classes that are offered and a good variety. Good support from parents for sports. Grading level higher than other places we've been. Overall great school but does put a lot of emphasis on the SOL test.

If you have a student in this school you must be and stay involved. Your child can get lost in the shuffle. Sports is a big thing in school. PArents need to stay incvolved. A must. Your child can get an excellent education with your involvement.

When I see complaints that are vague and not substantiated--like Robert's below--and hear him whining about life not being fair, I want to barf. Surely he is a miserable person, but why do such people want to make everyone unhappy as they are? What a waste of time. As a parent of a student at NSHS, what I hear and observe about the school is quite positive.

I believe North Stafford is an excellent High School! My daughter attends and she is doing extremely well. They have a great athletic program and in time, I believe our sports program will rank amongst the best in Northern VA's sports program. I believe our academic program is amongst the best in VA. Our grading scale has a higher point value. Which means our students are performing better compared to those on a regular grading scale. Ultimately, I would like to see Stafford County schools become more diversified where the teachers and staff are concerned. Stafford County is growing in leaps and bounds and our children reflect that diversification and so should our schools by hiring more qualified minority professionals.

I have a daughter and now a nephew attending north stafford and i applaud all of what this school has to offer. My daughter has done really well throughout her school-time and has one more year to continue her successful journey. My nephew came from a d.C. School and he himself has noticed the remarkable difference in the two school systems. He was having a problem with math and now he tells me, he understands it a lot better, he says 'they don't talk over my head an now i understand math, its just like a puzzle and they've given the proper tools to work it.' Thank you. Dolores

North Stafford High School is an excellent school. Two of my children have graduated from NSHS, one with Honors, and one with Distinguished Honors. It is the only local H.S. that is fully accredited by the State, and the results support that accreditation. Both of my children have gone on to College/University, and both are extremely successful. One plans to continue her higher education until she obtains an M.D., and the other one has gotten into a rather prestigious College on merit alone. I like to take credit for some of their success, but must share that credit with Stafford County. Thank you, Stafford County, for putting emphasis on Education to the extent possible with the current county budget.

This school is geared to students that can learn by lecture. Forget about any other learning style. Special Ed students are not encouraged nor taught to go beyond their mental limitations, in fact the teacher will just let the student sit in a class and do nothing for the day, there is no repercussion, its one less student that the teacher has to deal with and this is the attitude that the teachers take. The faculty would rather passifiy the parent rather than do their job and that is teach. The teachers blame the student for failing a course, when it is the teacher (if that is what you want to call them) who has failed the student by not attending his/her needs/ learning style. Not a good school for learning only for sports. What a waste of state resources.
