Sussex Central Middle School

I have a child at Sussex Central Middle School. I feel the administration is the problem. I feel the teachers are making a difference and working with our children. It is the politics that are being played in the school. If you don't believe me. Look at the new principle at Sussex Central Middle School. We need to fire the person that hired here ASAP. I am a parent of a high school student as well as a middle. I agree that there needs to be more involvement by the parents HOWEVER! we have very few teachers that care or that are trained well enough to teach in ANY district. We have students who are running these schools. The school district needs to completely be re-done starting with the school board on down. How can we expect our kids to learn from people who still need to learn themselves and try more to be these children's friends than someone who they need to listen to and learn from.

I have been involved with SCMS for over a year now as a parent and as a tutor. I have been very impressed with the quality of education that is offerred the students. I am however, very sad to see the attitudes of some of the students and the lack of parental involvement. The turn out of parents at the first PTA meeting this year was very low. Our students need to know that they have full support of parents and that we expect them to do their very best. This year there has been a tremendous improvement in the school administration. We have the structure to be a very successful school.

This school may have a new building, but the trash is still inside. Fighting is a major problem that is swept under the rug frequently. My child is often dicriminated against for his color by other students.

Sussex us nothing but a dump ! The govenrment needs to take over the school so they can actually learn something. Trust me i have spent 6 years there. I was so happy to get out of there.
