Committed teachers, small classes, attention paid to each student, a true sense of community. . . . . this little school has it all.

Our girls love Green Hedges. We have been at the school 7 years. We continue to be amazed at how much our girls are growing and excelling. The teachers teach to each childs learning style. The other parents are very welcoming. It is my childrens home away from home

We switched to Green Hedges after two years in a public school. WE love it! Our children love it and we feel that they are getting an education and not just test prep.I feel that the head of school is doing a fantastic job with a great faculty.

Both of my daughters attend GHS. This is their second year. I pulled them from the local public school because I did not feel they were realizing their potential. GHS has exceeded my expectations...and ask anyone who knows me...that is a VERY RARE statement. My oldest daughter, who did 7th and 8th grade at GHS, was accepted to both boarding schools she applied to. These were academically rigourous schools with low acceptance ratios...if not for GHS, I am certain she would not have been accepted. My youngest daughter, in grade 4 this year, has had her best year ever in elementary school. She has blossomed on all fronts. GHS has offered an environment where both of my girls have been able to grow on all levels...academically, socially and emotionally. The teachers and faculty have created the rarest of environments...nurturing, team oriented yet challenging. I would highly recommend GHS.

Both are sons attend Green Hedges and have been with the school since they started in the Montessori program when they were three years old. We visit neighboring private and public schools to evaluate other programs and in the end, we always seem to return back to Green Hedges. There are many reasons why we find the school to be a great fit for our sons but the one aspect that remains true to the core mission is the 'enjoyment of learning'. We strongly recommend the school based on their broad enriched curriculum and emphasis on every single student.

We are absolutely thrilled with Green Hedges. If you are hung up on state-of-the art physical facilities then you may want to look at a school that is a bit flashier. BUT if you are interested in a nurturing environment with small classes and truly first rate teachers you will be well pleased with Green Hedges. The school offers a classical education delivered in a progressive manner. Every child is valued for his or her own strengths, while encouraged to take risks in areas of relative weakness. The arts and athletics at the school are for EVERYONE, as is character education (sorely missing these days in many educational settings). As for life after 8th grade this little gem of a school places grads in many of the top (and therefore highly competitive) independent high schools in the DC metro area.

Both our daughters attend Green Hedges and they love it! In fact this summer they were asking when they could go back which is a mark of a truly exceptional school. The teachers are experienced and caring. The small class sizes provide individual attention to the students which keeps them involved and interested in their lessons. The extracurricular activities offered are also varied and well rounded makeing this a great place for a child to grow and learn. We moved to Virginia from out of state more than two years ago and did an extensive search of private and public schools. Green Hedges continues to be our first choice. Our only desire would be for the school to modernize some of its facilities such as the science labs and the library. However this is in the works, so we are hopeful that the school will become even better.

Green Hedges is one of Vienna's hidden gems. Both of our children have attended the school since they were small, and we've been very happy with their experiences. Because of the small class sizes, the teachers really get to know and care about the students. The curriculum is well-rounded and challenging. Green Hedges students are routinely accepted into top area high schools when they graduate from eighth grade.

This is a lovely school with music and arts programs that easily rival and surpass everything I have seen elsewhere. Their band is fantastic. Additionally, the teachers are caring and nurturing, and there are numerous opportunities for children to express their individual talents, wthether they be academic, musical, athletic, or artistic. This is one of the few schools left with a well-rounded curriculum that allows children to grow and explore in multiple directions.
