Chesterbrook Academy has been wonderful for our son. He's started out as a just turned 3 toddler and is now a graduating Kindergartner. The love, attention, and teaching has helped him become a confident and independent boy who really loves to learn both at school and at home. The teachers have always really cared about each individual child and made sure their learning experience was what was right for them. (Over the years I've spent a lot of mornings and afternoons having little chats with teachers or just watching as they finished up activities.)

Our daughter loves going to school here! Chesterbrook feels like a family and the communication from staff to parents is excellent. I highly recommend this school.

This is a great school. My child is in the Intermediate (ages 3-4) class and will also be there for Summer Camp as well as next year. The school is focused on learning but in a fun and engaging way. I think what makes this school great is that it listens to parents and communicates really well. When my child first started she was very shy and had a hard time adjusting, everyone at the school, not just my child's teacher, tried to help. They said hello when they saw her in the hallways and waved, so she felt like it was a comfortable environment. On a daily basis, we get newsletters discussing what the kids learned or did that day, even with pictures! I love seeing those emails during my day and seeing what my child is doing in school. I also have 2 grade schoolers and the curriculum CBA follows is very similar to what Fairfax County is doing. They also have day camps for school aged children, so when there is no school, we can drop our other kids there for a full day of arts and crafts, learning, and great social interaction.

We moved our youngest daughter to Chesterbrook in October of 2012 when she was 2 years old. She used to cry every day when we dropped her off at her school before that, we can happily say she has not cried once in 2.5 years of being dropped off at Chesterbrook, even week one! Chesterbrook has a fantastic staff that is not only great teachers and caring to the children, but trustworthy and empathetic with the parents. Our daughter also enjoys the summer camp at Chesterbrook, they have a phenomenal campus with plenty of field space and even a pool to get the kids out and doing different things in the summer. We have had 3 kids in day cares/preschools for 11 years now and hands down this is the BEST one any of our children have ever attended.

My daughter has been enrolled at Chesterbrook since April of 2014. My husband and I are so pleased with with the care and education she has received. She has really progressed since then. When she started shortly after turning 2 she was significantly behind in her speech development. A year later her vocabulary has expanded tremendously and I am so thankful to them for that. During her time in the Beginner (age 2) class, her teacher Miss Pegah helped us potty train her so efficiently, she has had no issues or accidents since she has now moved up to the Intermediates (age 3) class. The teachers here are outstanding. Very patient, and loving. My daughter enjoys coming to school everyday, and that's all a parent can ask for. She often tells me her teacher, Miss Neisha, is her best friend :) Ms. Maria and Mrs. Amanda (Principal & Asst. Principal) do a wonderful job of communicating to the parents any new changes which is also a plus. They are very welcoming and will always take a minute to chat if you stop by the office. Overall, my family's experience at Chesterbrook has been great!

We wanted to find the right balance of daycare joy and kindness and pre-school structure and education for our 2 year old daughters (who are now 3) . Chesterbrook academy has been the perfect choice for us and our daughters. The Vienna location offers a large outdoor playground, open fields, gardens and even a pool for summer swim classes. This allows for plenty of unstructured play, sports and pure discovery that always brings giggles and smiles rain or shine. The girls would easily spend decades within school buildings in the years ahead and the chance to have a preschool that was more day at the park than day at the office was especially appealing The faculty is appreciably younger than most schools. This gives our girls the chance to engage with teachers and care givers who are as excited and playful to teach as our girls are to learn. We have become friend outside of school with a number of the other Chesterbrook families. This is a outcome of the welcoming tone and feeling of partnership that is embedded within the full team at the school. We see our children learn something new every day and enjoy doing it

We have had 2 kids at this school continuously since 2011 The school has passed through some lows around 2013 which I see is when most of the negative reviews were posted. We were honestly about to pull them out at that time, when Ms. Maria Murphy was appointed as school principal. Ms. Maria truly turned the school around. There is a lot of structure, we receive daily reports from the teacher about what the children did that day and teacher turnover has been significantly reduced. Summer camps at this school are lots of fun because the school has an in-ground swimming pool too. This school totally prepared my son for kindergarten at a competitive private school in the area. My daughter who is still 3 has made significant improvement and now knows all her letters and numbers. I would highly recommend Chesterbrook to a friend or family member!

My son was a former student at Chesterbrook. We needed to pull him out of Chesterbrook because of the morning commute we were dealing with. We did not have any other problems with this school. Teachers were caring and extremely flexible. Right now, my son was in a famous school which is not as much as I expected for caring and loving. My son is still adjusting at new environment and so am I.

We were so blessed to have found Chesterbrook Academy in Vienna, VA since we live in McLean. It was recommended to me by a parent I had just met at the recreation center while waiting for my daughter to finish her swim class. This is an excellent school. My daughter went there for two years (PK and K). The teachers are superb and very caring. My other children had gone to a Montessori school so I was a little worried my daughter would not get as much academics as the other two did. However, she ended up learning at her level and was appropriately challenged (K teacher divided the class into 3 depending on the child's aptitude but it was not obvious so as not to make any child feel less than). What's more was the social skills my daughter learned that was invaluable. This was a wonderful experience!!

I will not recommend this school. The turnover of teachers and admin was ridiculously high. I witnessed many of the teachers yelling at students and acting unprofessional. Inexperienced and unfriendly teaching staff. Poor communication with parents. The parking lot is very unsafe.

It is clear that the last review was posted by an administrative person. This school went downhill don't get fooled. The teachers that are left in this school are horrible. We are removing our son from this place. All good teachers left. The ones that are left are inexperienced and are scream at kids all the time. Class rooms are filthy and old. So weird that they change principals every 3 months. Apparently the last one got in car accident. This place is totally disorganized.

This school was the perfect fit for my son! We recently started and I was extremely impressed by the level of activity that they provide. From the time my son walks in to the time he leaves he is active and learning which was one of my main concerns when checking out other schools in the area. The facility is VERY clean, and I haven't seen any issues with the staff, and all seem capable and motivated. In a short amount of time, I have seen a vast improvement in my son's ability to share, communicate and sit still!! they even had him potty trained in a week!( He now goes on his own) ALL of the checks on my checklist were met: - Nice, friendly staff - Clean facility - structured activities - languages - Good Food my son would actually eat (He is an extremely picky eater) When I mentioned this too them they allowed me to bring in a lunch bag for him, which he didn't even need. - Open door policy ( I like being able to "drop in" and make sure all is well. - Flexible schedule. Most daycare's offer tue/thur or Mon/wed/fri. They let me choose the days that worked best for his schedule. - They also have monitors for all of the rooms. Overall I highly recommend this school!!

As a relative newcomer to this school, I have to say that I'm not overly impressed. There is a significant level of disorganization, and communication is inconsistent in both message and timing. As a parent I have asked the questions and either receive incomplete answers (to be found out after the fact) or inconsistent answers, and find that what is communicated often changes. We have recently seen 5 teachers/assistants leave in a month for various reasons, and now understand that there is a change in staff at the Principal level. I am not as concerned about why the staff departed (we were provided reasons for half of them that centered on personal life), but more concerned that replacement of 6 staff members in a short turn is very hard and takes time to "sort out". Where the school grounds offer a large playground and swimming pool, the buildings are fairly old. For the relative cost of the school, I've seen no real evidence that the learning program is any more advanced or different than where we were previously. Unfortunately to date, I have found few positives about this school. I am hopeful that the change of administration will also change our experience.

I have to say that this school has been very helpful to me and my family in the last year. Yes there have been changes and yes they are difficult for all involve, including the staff and management. I think that parents should not rate schools when they have never brought any of this "inappropriate" behaviors to the administration's attention. I love this school. I love these teachers and even though this year was hard, I am staying and would recommend it to anyone that asks. Why...my child has grown and learned so much in the last year. I know that next year, he will improve even more. Most importantly he's happy, which makes me happy.

All the good teachers are gone. The new teachers are ridiculously young and inexperience!! They are not patient with children. I witnessed how one of the young teachers treated a child in the playground. I was in my car and they did not know I was in the car. I would not reveal the name of the teacher(from intermediate class) and child. Parents will be jumped!! I don't believe the reviews, written on March 1st, 2013, were by the real parents. It must be by the school administrative person.

This school is just that a school, not a daycare. The teachers and staff are educators and encourage the children to learn and grow. They helped my son come out of his shell. He now talks all of the time, writes and has a desire to learn. Ms. C, and Ms. S. are great!!! They are there for the kids and it shows. You won't regret joinging this school at all.

I love this school, we are a newer family and have found this to be the best school for our son. Both Administration and the teacher's have been very welcoming and educational. I have found that all of my concerns have been calmed and my questions answered by all whom I have asked. Many parents don't ask for help, therefore they pass judgement that is not true. This is a good school, teachers (at least my son's) is great and love the principal, she is helpful and always ready to serve her families. She answered my email on a Sunday afternoon.

I disagree with the previous comments, the school has help me help my child. I enrolled and was immediately welcomed into the family. The teacher helped my daughter ease into the room and the administration was nothing but exceptional. I have not seen a smoother transistion by a school and this is my youngest of 4. This school is GREAT!! and yes I would also recommend my child. Parents need to get more involved before they complain.

I have been very satisfied and my daughter has been at CBA for a year. As an experienced educator, I always have my 'teacher eyes' on when I enter the building. My daughter loves her teachers (Ms. A, Ms. G and Ms. S!) and the other staff and administration that she sees every day. The extra activities that are provided for the children-- in addition to the classroom-- are awesome! The teachers and administrative team are dedicated and enthusiastic about providing safe and fun atmosphere- and any questions or concerns are addressed and resolved quickly. CBA is a great place! My daughter loves it! All concerns should be brought to Ms. Stacey or Ms. Donisha, they are great and will work with you.

We relocated to the area and toured many, many preschools for our children. Chesterbrook stood out among them all. They care about your child's well-being; it is a very close-knit feeling. I love the fact that there are also additional extracurricular activity options such as soccer, dance and multi-sports lessons. The playgrounds are awesome and my children in particular enjoy their special art classes with Ms. H. My children's pediatrician commented on how impressed he was at their yearly visits in regard to how advanced both of my children were with their verbal, fine and gross motor skills, and comprehension levels. He asked where they go to preschool, and I said Chesterbrook!

After having our child in schools that were little more than baby sitting centers, We have finally found a pre-school that is committed to giving our child something more than snack, story and nap time. The principal is excellent, and most teachers are well trained. The facilities are marginal, but this place deserves a walk through. I recommend highly.

Good Academic, but depending on which class and which teacher, not all are great. Admission is unacceptable, turn-over is too high, I know a lot of very good teachers left, and some due to the school budget cut, the school doesn't want to pay high salary to keep good teacher. sometimes parents' suggestions are ignored even that's most parents' concern.

My child has excelled at this school and there are just so many great things to say about it. The Principal is warm and caring, and has a real interest in each and every child. The teachers are fantastic!! They are so patient and they genuinely care about each child. It is an extremely nuturing environment which you really want for such young children. Also, a real plus is the smaller class sizes and a great deal of individual attention. See for yourself because, guaranteed, you won't see an unhappy child.

I can by far say that the Pre-k, JK and Kindergarten teachers are always walking around with a smile on their faces and having a great time with their students. They have such a great background in teaching. I would highly reccomend these grades at town and country rather then a public school. The students at that school truly love and feel a connection with these teachers that I have never experienced anywhere else. The only downfall that I would say is that I do wish that the students(one being my child) had fruit for morning snacks, which is a much healthier meal for the students rather then goldfish, cheez-its and pretzels everyday.

This school is by far the best of three we've been in so far. Sure there has been some turnover, but I don't blame the Principal. The Principal is focusing on the important aspects of a quality education, not the whims of a few very vocal parents. She realizes there are issues she can address successfully, and some she just can't tackle. I would highly recommend this school to anyone, especially someone with special needs children. I rated the Safety & Discipline low due to the parents. They drive around the small campus too fast.

Great academic programs in all classes. The students are working at least a grade level above public Schools.High turnover rates in the Pre-school & Pre K. If your child has any type of learning problem this is not the school for you. The school is going through a bit of a chaotic phase at the moment. Communication limited between parents and the principal.

Town and Country has very strong Pre K and Kindergarten program. They are hard to match in any of the public schools in the area. The teachers in these rooms are highly qualified, enthusiastic, as well as friendly and helpful.

The teachers at this school are a wonderful asset, and I only wish that the administration could open their eyes to this fact and give them a little more respect. The turn-over rate for Town and Country's teaching staff is sickening. This school has so much potential, it's a shame that things are so disorderly around there.
