Norge Elementary School

We just moved to VA this year. My girls are doing excellent at Norge Elementary. The teachers are excellent. My 4th grader said, Norge is the best school. I like how they do not sell useless things as fundraisers. It's small but an excellent school.

My child is very happy attending Norge. There are some great teachers and the kids are like a big happy family. PTA involvement is excellent. They really keep the school spirit going.

Finaly! After an extremely rocky start 4 years ago, I can write a great review of this school! We have always been warm & friendly, so I know the 9/24/11 post doesn't apply to us. My child has the BEST teacher we could ever hope for - Mr. Whalen. Just imagine the perfect teacher & you will see this man. Mrs. Benthal is a wonderful art teacher, Mr. Soup is just all around awesome, Mrs. Byrd is such a caring nurse, and the new vice principal is amazing with the kids and parents. All the faculty we deal with now are so delightful!!! I just wish my child's 1st and 2nd grade teachers mrs. S & mrs b. could teach/care about each student half as well as our teacher this year. This school has only been getting better every year! Thank you NORGE ELEMETARY!!!

I have 2 kids at Norge (2nd and Kindergarten) and we love our school!! The teachers really care about the well being of the students and the administrative staff has always been friendly. The Norge PTA is fantastic and there are tons of great Norge Moms and Dads that are very involved at the school. My kids love it there!

I am the parent of a 3rd and 5th grader. Last year was our first year at Norge and I couldn't have been happier. Both of my children excelled with the leadership and caring of their teachers. Ms. Parker (now Kuklis) and Mrs. Darcy were excellent and I believe that Mrs. Pace and Mrs. Georgianna will both great for my children this year. They also both like and admire the principal and assistant principal. I only gave this school 4's because I believe everyone has room for improvement!

I am a mom of three children and this is our fourth year at Norge Elementary. Our oldest son just started third grade and it keeps getting better each year. The administration is helpful and supportive and really cares about our kids. The assistant principal makes it a point to learn every kids' name in the school - an impressive task with over 500 kids. We love being a part of this great school community and are thankful for the wonderful teachers our children have had over the last three years.

We have two at Norge, one in 5th and one in 1st. We love our Norge family. Sure like anything else in life it has its pros and cons but trust us the pros fair out weigh the cons. I am truly disappointed in the negative reviews although I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I have witnessed first hand the great care and attention special needs students receive and as far as the office staff, they are great, perhaps it was an off day or perhaps your own approach was cold and abrupt. I am happy my two are part of a such a great community!

Do not send your child to this school if they have special needs. The administration is not special ed. friendly.

I have two children that attended Norge for the past two years and we hate to leave it. The teachers are wonderful!! Both of my children were in speech and I have found the staff and all to be very exceptional in helping out in any way possible. The office staff is very diligent about the safety and care of the children and make sure no one takes a child without being the parent or an assigned person to do so. This school has been nothing but great and my two children now going into 5th and 3rd grade absolutely loved it there. To bad we are moving cross country! We will definately miss Norge and all their staff!!!

We are new this year to Norge Elementary. The secretary has horrible people skills. She comes across as cold, crabby and judgmental. Our bus driver never sais hello or waves back to me when she picks up or drops off. When I brought a complaint to the Vice Principal, she immediately dismissed my concerns and refused to believe that any of her staff are flawed in any way. This is exactly why my preacher and his wife took their kids out of this school. We are considering leaving also.

Norge is important in my son's life. He is a special needs child and they specialize in that area. The teachers are committed and help your child to be an individual.

We are new to JCC school this year. My child has an exellent teacher that is an asset to this district. She has pushed my child to excel in reading, math, and critical thinking. However, we encountered one large disappointment with an administrator. I believe that all faculty and staff are supposed to be advocates on behalf of their students. Unfortunately at the beginning of the year this administrator failed to represent her student and left my child disappointed and disheartened. I can only thank my childs teacher for changing the first impression of this school and making this a stellar year! The JCC schools also offer wonderful programs, such as band, choir, and chorus. We thoroughly enjoyed the winter program. Way to Go!
