I'm a student at DMMS.... I don't like it. The 'teacher's pets' always get the most help while I'm just here struggling to know what's even going on. And then when I get a large number of questions wrong on a worksheet, they get mad at ME. I have huge bullying problems at school- But whenever I tell someone, they just 'talk' to us for about 30 seconds and pretend everything's alright. The school has some serious work to do with its way of handling things and helping kids who need help. - Upcoming 7th Grader At DMMS
Daniel Morgan is an awesome school. The teachers and students are great. They treat students very well. They have many after school activities. The principle is new now but very nice. It has a new building.
It is a ok school. I am unhappy with the school because I do not feel that the teachers do not help the students as much as they should. Too many fights.
I 'm dissatisfied with the attitude of the teachers in this school especially to immigrants, and especially to children who are smarter than them and they come from another country!!! Already in the first day a teacher asked my daughter (7th grade) is she attended a school at all so far ?!? My family are immigrants from soon, but that does not make us stupid or second hand people!!! Sorry for my not so good english!
I am extremely unhappy with how this school has turned out. My girls used to love going to school, and now they work themselves up so much they vomit. The dread of having teachers who will not help them comprehend their work, and then get into trouble when the work isn't completed. This school is especially horrible for those with learning disabilities, as my girls have found out. I would never recommen this school to anyone, as I am now leaning towards a lawyer to just get help for my kids.
Dmms is the best school ever. They try to keep the peace but when it accently goes wild the deal with it in a proper why. Plus they have so much fun and they raise money for great causes like hatti
They care about my child personally and strive to give her the best education they can.
My daughter goes to daniel morgan and i think it's not a very good scchool. To many fights and they always blame it on the students for nothing. Thats how i feel about this school.
I'm a student @ DMMS. I love it here. We have great teachers & administraters. Academics are great & athletics rock . Go 7th grade bball team. TBS
I think the school could not get any better. It's so nice on the insid and out. The teachers are so nice and thoughtful. The principal is very nice himself. I love the school.
I've had 2 kids at this school. In terms of the 'quality of academic programs': the learning environment is not condusive to learning. Many of the staff seem overworked and appear to have trouble controlling the kids in the school. It's a shame because the school has been remodeled and the facility is nice. They need some major kindness towards the kids and to honor parents requests when action is needed to get a child's grades back on track such as a teacher/classroom change.
Add my voice to the parents who aren't satisfied with the respect given to teachers or subs at DMMS. I am a sub with DMMS for math and science and the largest problem by far is being a police officer trying to maintain order. Many of the students I deal with are simply out of control. Teaching under such conditions is well nigh impossible. This needs to be fixed by the school administration pronto.
An average school is a better definition. It is not a great school by any means. The scores speak for themselves and the leadership of the school. I also know of parents who have had a lot of problems with school discipline (or the lack thereof) Parent participation is also lacking. It seems that it is always the same parents who are there working. Extracurricular activities are available, but not supported by the budget.
Sorry to say that I myself am not a parent, but an A honor student at Daniel Morgan. I have recently recieved the Principal's Award for a 4.0 GPA over the three years I spent at Daniel Morgan. There were only four others (out of a class of 350) who recieved this distinction. Daniel Morgans teaching has its highs and lows. From a students perspectives, the math and English programs at Daniel Morgan are fantastic. This year the school started allowing eighth graders to take Algebra II. Although only two students were in the class (being in the class myself) it was wonderful. Daniel Morgan lacks in its Social Sciences and Sciences program though. The extracurricular activities are fantastic as is the wonderful parental involvement. Although Daniel Morgan is currently under construction, it will soon be able to offer more educational programs with more room for students.
