Archbishop Carroll has the most supportive academic staff I have come across. They avail themselves to the students. It is a family oriented atmosphere and the parents play a big role with the administration. They are receptive to our ideas. One the best academic decisions I have made for my son. He truly enjoys it.
Archbishop Carroll is a very wonderful school. You feel like you are with Family and that is one less thing that you have to worry about in this date and time. And the teachers take the one on one time with the child to work with them on any problems that they have
Archbishop Carroll is a co-educational institution founded on the principles of knowing, loving, and serving others. As far as student behavior and interaction goes, it is quite normal. It is very much your typical high school. We have our jocks, our nerds, our x, y, and z. However, I personally think that we have something a little extra that puts us over the edge. All of our students are willing to work for something they are passionate about. Our athletes work hard, our nerds work hard, and our x, y, and z all work hard to do the best that they are capable of. The level of support that we receive from our faculty is truly incredible. All of our teachers and faculty want to see us succeed in school and in life. This is apparent to me and I am sure it is obvious to all of my fellow students as well. However, I did not give Carroll that fifth star because, although it is an institution of hard workers, I feel we lack focus. We work our behinds off, but it is not as constructive as it could be. However, I know that if our faculty received this funding, they would find a way to use it wisely and to help the entire student body.
As a teacher at Archbishop Carroll I can attest to its greatness. Some might look at a school like ours and overlook its greatness, but to do so would be judging a book by it's cover. Archbishop Carroll provides more than just a great education, something that any school can provide. Archbishop Carroll restores hope to those students who may have given up on the prospects of happiness or success. An incredible support staff works with young people to help meet their potential. Who would value an education more, one who had to work for it, whose parent's sacrifice much for it or someone whose education was a given? As diamonds are born from the pressure of the earth our students earn their education by enduring the pressures of often extraordinary circumstance. It is a process that some individuals never learn until much later on in life. Perhaps Archbishop Carroll gives its students more than just a good education, support for the future and hope... perhaps it also imparts wisdom. With the students we are given, how could we do any less?
Carroll has a history of greatness, but, in recent years had not gotten high praise. I was unsure of Carroll, but, it was my daughter's first choice. I am very pleased with the administration, teachers and school as a whole. The teachers are well educated with Master's and Doctorate degrees. They genuinely care about the students and go the extra mile to ensure the students are engaged in lectures. Carroll was a great choice for my family and we are happy to be a part of the CARROLL PRIDE!!! #ACHS
Archbishop Carroll High School is a school where you will always learn something new, meet charismatic people, and end up having a fun time. There are many pros as well as cons to this school, but as a student I highly recommend this school to anyone. Carroll may not be on top but, that doesn't mean it can't be. Archbishop Carroll is a medium-small sized high school with great teachers and students full of potential. We are a school where we help our community and care for each other. We will always have some "bad apples" among the population but with the right guidance and influence on each other we can all learn to cooperate. We are Carroll, where the teachers actually teach and some build strong connections to students, where rowdy fun loving students learn and commit themselves to their work and actually gain knowledge, and where the school as a whole build on themselves and create a great community.
I have been very pleased with Carroll. The student to staff ratio is the best ever. The teachers are really compassionate and genuinely care about the students. The curriculum is competitive and ridged. WE ARE CARROLL
ACHS, is the most loving and giving school ever. We all stand together through everything thats one thing, I love about Carroll. But, the best thing about Carroll has to be our Library. Its so comforting and welcoming for me. Not only because my passion for reading, but the librarain and... BOOKS! Every book our library holds catches my eye and keeps me, hooked till Im done. Everybody seem to enjoy our Library too. With our many laptops that seem to be always taken due to our work or projects. Even if your not reading the library is still a social gathering spot for my school. That's one place/thing I love about my school.
Archbishop Carroll is a great school! The teachers are very helpful and the students are very nice and friendly. I enjoy being at Carroll because the classes challenge you. I also like being at Carroll because you get to choose your classes. Carroll is overall a great school to be at!!!!
Archbishop Carroll is a family oriented school community. we love the teacher/student ratio. I will say that as parents, my husband and I have been pleased with the education that our son's have received. Even in these economic times Carroll is still affordable and accessible. When considering a religious, rigorous high school for your son or daughter consider Archbishop Carroll. You will fall in love with the environment. Every student is nurtured and pushed to achieve their fullest potential.
Archbishop Carroll is a phenomenal place for your children to be educated in a Christian environment. Dr. Stofa and his staff are the best, We are so happy to be part of the Carroll family! It is a great and exciting time to be at Carroll.
My son is a sophomore and he loves Archbishop Carroll. I sent my son here because of what I heard about Dr. Stofa. He is a wonderful principal who only wants the best for his students. If the school has a strong principal you can assure the staff will be strong. Since 2006 Archbishop Carroll has changed for the better and there has been many parents to witness the change.
My son is a Senior there and an outstanding athlete on the track and football team. He loves it. His brother will be going to Carroll too.
This is our son's first year at ACHS. He loves it (and so do we). Although he did well at DeMatha, we transferred him because we felt Carroll would provide a more nurturing, personable environment. We were right! His teachers are all awesome. The new academic VP is outstanding and Dr. Stofa is an exceptional leader. The school is small/intimate and focuses on preparing our young (predominantly minority) students for the real world both academically and socially. The administration is aware of the challenges our young people will face and are taking every measure to ensure they are able to compete. We have not had a chance to explore the athletic program, as our son plays spring sports, but I am encouraged by Dr. Sofa's assurance they will be up to par. I highly recommend ACHS. Don't be fooled or get caught up by other so-called prep schools with big names.
My son just graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School. He loved it and my family really enjoyed having him a Christian school. It is a great school!!!
My daughter has been a student @ ACHS since 9th grade. She will be a senior this upcoming school year. I must admit there has been some bumps and bruises along the way however we (the parents, students & faculty) have always pulled through. Our newest and most prominent improvement, Dr Stofa! He is the 'bomb'! He is hands on with the students and parents! His willingness to sit and listen, monitor, walk the walk of the students is exceptional! He was a true GOD send and he will bring ACHS back up to standards maybe even beyond. Big ups to Mr. Savoy! He has always provided a safe and inviting environment @ ACHS. He has always gained the respect of the students as well as taught them integrity. Ms. Blaufass has also been a impressionable addition. I am over pleased with the changes!
I have been trying to stick it out thinking that the school would get better but it has been one disappointment after another. I liked the small class size but have not been impressed with much of the course work. Have not gotten responses from many teachers. The sports and other activitites are lacking also. My son plays baseball and it was not even included as a one of the school sports in the year book. The cost of tuition keeps going up and at this point I know I'm not getting ehat I'm paying for. I would have to agree with the other parent's disappointment.
This school is academically from a 0-10 level, is a 5, it has some challeging classes like history, and college writing. The rest is very poor. No discipline is enforce in the school. Most of the students are disciplined with demerits every week, creating a habit for them, attending to school on saturdays. No teacher-parent support. Administrators are not available. Religion aspect is not demonstrated at all, except for the soup kitchen, feeding homeless. If you care about your child, please do not register him/her in this school.
As a student attending Archbishop High School,I can vouch for the academic prowess that our school possesses. The teachers are outstanding, They equip students with the academic foundation conducive to achieving academic excellence. The students are filled with an enthusiasim and desire to learn that an individual will be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Something noteworthy is the school's atmosphere, deeply entrenced in Catholic value, challenging all students to strive for the greater glory of God in all their endeavors. I feel that Archbishop Carroll has well prepeared me for college and beyond.

I am in my sophemore year there and i have been happy since freshman year. I have alot of friends in all grades and this has been 1 of the best experiences of my life so far.
