E.W.Stokes CFPCS's mission is to provide its scholars with a bilingual education, English and French or English and Spanish. It helps them develop qualities of leadership and community service as well as good academic results. It is recognized as one of the best charter schools in Washington, D.C.

I am parent of a child who recently completed the 5th grade. This was his first year in a bilingual school setting and he was well received and supported by a caring, highly experienced and professional staff. I am only too sorry that we didn't start with this diverse (both teachers and students) and thoroughly committed educational community earlier in our schooling experience.

I loved the school my daughter was at Stokes until she finish the 6th grade. They also help me find the perfect middle school for her. I will always remember Stokes.

My child was the first to start the school and she has completed the school this year i really like the staff and the help it was like one bigh happy family and all the teachers help out and you only deal with your child teacher I feel that if you are looking for a school where you child will get all the help that is needed then EW Stokes is the best school

Stokes is an expectional school. It has a diverse mix of staff members that exposes children to different cultures.

About the tests


The DC school classification system includes multiple measures to evaluate performance and student growth. The possible classifications, from highest to lowest, are Reward, Rising, Developing, Focus and Priority. These measures include the DC CAS, annual growth, graduation rates, attendance rates and participation rates. Under the system, required under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), each school is given a School Index Score based on the performance of its students. Schools receive different levels of support, resources, flexibility and monitoring based on their classification.
