My grandson enjoys the school so much that he wanted to attend summer school. His grade point average was 3.8 and he did not have that need. He is so excited about giong back because of the teachers and his love of math and reading. Plus he has great friends there. The curriculum is excellent and well rounded with a focus on academic, the arts, physical fitness and parent involvement. T

My son attends kindergarten at this school. His teachers Ms. Felix and Ms. Austin are phenomenal. My son is now reading above grade level and is excelling in math. I will recommend this school to every parent. The teachers are very dedicated and express a personal interest in their students

Students are happy and engaged. However principal leadership is very poor.Teachers are excellent, .Center City as school system is wonderful but the principal has to go with new leadership this school can be prosperous.

About the tests


The DC school classification system includes multiple measures to evaluate performance and student growth. The possible classifications, from highest to lowest, are Reward, Rising, Developing, Focus and Priority. These measures include the DC CAS, annual growth, graduation rates, attendance rates and participation rates. Under the system, required under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), each school is given a School Index Score based on the performance of its students. Schools receive different levels of support, resources, flexibility and monitoring based on their classification.
