The teachers and staff are impressive. The children are learning great note taking and study habits for college.

Kipp Key is they best Middle School in the City, but don't just take my word for it, check out their scores. My son is a 8th grade student and has been at Kipp since 5th grade, and the educational component can't be matched. He's testing on HS and Post HS level, and they really are preparing these kids for college. There are to Shortcuts & No Excuses, and they teach by that motto.

This school has no tolerance for excuses. In fact that's part of it's moto. The children are taught to be accountable for their actions at all times and behavioral issues are dealt with immediately to avoid disruption in the classroom. My son has transferred from a school with a great curriculum but over the years has lost control of the kids. This school is a great change. My son is also excited already about college. That is the focus of the school, don't focus on high school, this is a given, focus on preparation for college. So far, we are extremely pleased. I recommend this school to any middle schooler in the DC Area. This charter school provides a private school education with a public school 'fee' (zero!)
