Good school, good teachers. Arlington is a good school district to begin with. Administration is above average. Not sure moving 6th grade to the middle school was a good idea. Would like to see more control of behaviour on the busses. Dont like the teachers union at all.
As a parent, I must admit that I had my doubts about this school based on how it has been in the past. Now, though, it is the perfect school to send your child. The teachers are caring, the authorities are fair, and the activities are educational. The students are pleased with the school, and so am I.
As a student of Post Middle School. I have to say that it is pretty nice. I have been here for more then 1/2 of the school year as I have recently moved. But it is a great school with devoted teachers... A little bit of a problem with fighting and the usual middle school 'drama' but depending on what all you get your self into and what kids you hang out with it can be a great place... The sports are great also and they are a blast to participate in. The work load does ease up after the WASL as the teachers only seem to work you before the WASL so hard... Nice school... Mr. Morin Mrs. Anderson Mr. Costello Mrs. English Are all great teachers that are really devoted and caring to each student. If you show effort they will give you double what you give.
As a parent of a child in Post Middle School I have experienced many 'ups & downs' with the school staff. There are indeed a few very concerned & devoted teachers, and a few that are 'going through the motions'.
As a new resident of arlington with a child with special needs I was very cautious about moving here since my child was doing well at the seattle schools and had alot of support...I'm pleasantly surprised at how well this has worked out I am very impressed at how well the teachers seem to understand what will help my child and challenge her I like how dedicated the teachers seem and I think that directly is a result of the princilple and vice principle even though I don't really know them that well. I am always pleased with the meetings I have with the teachers very sharp all of them I have encountered
As a parent of a student who has attended Post Middle School, I am pleased with the education my children received and by the caring teachers that are at the school. I always receive immediate feedback from the staff and the administrators and know that my kids are in a caring environment. Post is a terrific school!
As a student in Post Middle School I know alot more of what is happening at this school. Its not the teachers who aren't willing to teach, its the few kids who aren't willing to learn. Our extracurricular activities are great too! For example, the varsity boys 7th grade basketball team went undefeated. Our current principal Mr.Brian Beckley is the best we've ever had. Long story short, Post is a great place for kids all over to enjoy the best years of their life!
Not a very Safe School. Lots of drugs and fighting.
Great school with excellent teacher/parent communication.
Overall, Post is an adequate Middle School. There are some really committed, creative and dedicated teachers, especially Ms. Clarke-Smith, Mr. Moran and Mrs. Verrier-Davis, to name a few. Mr. DeJong and Mr. Boatman are two of the most compassionate and caring Administrators around. The main difficulty I see is that there are simply too many kids in too small a space. Coupled with the changes they're going through physically, and there is an occasional behavior problem because of lack of supervision at times. Plus, my son's yearbook was stolen the very last day during school hours which left him with a less than happy memory of PMS!
