Carden has provided my children with a very high quality education. The teachers and staff have been key contributors to the development of their character, academic ability and social awareness. When my children leave Carden they will not only be prepared for high school and beyond, they will be at the top of their class.

I currently have 2 girls in the upper grades at Carden Country School and they both have loved their sweet, little school since kindergarten! Even though the standards are high and they have homework almost every day, they still love it. I never hear them complain about their work load or what they have to do. As a matter of fact, when they were younger, they used to be so sad when summer would come. They had to be convinced that even though they would miss their friends and the fun things about school, that we would still have a great summer without Carden! They talk about their school with pride and joy. They have never had a teacher they did not adore. All of the Carden teachers cherish the children as well. It is an amazing feeling to know that the teachers actually know your child really well, and care about not only their scholastic achievements, but their personal development as well. I truly believe that Carden has helped me 'raised' my girls into the kind, considerate and lovely young women that they are today. I am forever grateful

Carden Country School provides a rigorous, classical education for the modern world. Carden gives bright children the challenge they need, to delight in learning, and a firm structure to explore their world safely and in confidence. My son's first year has been astounding. Friends and relatives looking through his schoolwork cannot believe his beautiful 2nd grade cursive or the level of grammar and math already mastered. My son has also improved in perhaps the most critical area: self mastery. He has had solid guidance this year in identifying his emotions, learning self control, respect for others, and taking responsibility for this choices - essential life skills. Carden Country School's setting is like something out of a novel: a little red schoolhouse nestled in green rolling fields, dotted with sheep and the occasional cow. My son wakes up proud and happy to go to school every day!

Carden Country School provides the highest level curriculum in the area. The student teacher ratio is amazing. The teachers are well trained and incredibly caring while still maintaining high academic and behavior standards. Students receive a well rounded education with specialist in French, Physical Education, Music and Art every week. They memorize scripture, poetry and music in addition to their normal classroom studies. They also have school performances and year-end plays. Students also participate is community events through out the year, such as volunteering at the local food bank. They also have a daily morning opening where they learn about things like God and having good character. Carden is truly a partner for parents who desire to raise children with high academic standards, strong Christian faith and good moral character.

Great teacher to student ratio. Sets standards and values for students. The teachers are very deicated to the success of each and every student. The academic programs surpass those of the public schools. The pledge of allegiance is said every morning along w/ a non denominational prayer. If you want to know more look up the Carden Method. In the Iowa testing, Carden was one of the schools that rated very high, if not the highest. This includes both the public and private schools on Bainbridge. There is music, language, and extracurricular activities. The parents are very involved in the school and the success of their children.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
