There are many great things about Blaine High School, most notably the band program. The dedication of the band director is beyond belief. Every child enrolled receives a lesson in life in addition to a great music education. Academically: The social sciences and language (only Spanish I, II) are weak. Some history classes have no texts, readings, assignments, etc.. The math department is good, while English and Sciences are excellent. Grade inflation is a problem, resulting in a big shock during college . To keep AP course enrollment up, some students are counseled into AP classes who are not prepared. Areas that need urgent upgrades: 1. (physical facility) and 2. ongoing professional development for the career center/college prep. and the lead administrative team. Support staff are strong, as is counseling . This is a great small town experience for some. BHS, for the most part, is welcoming and staff care about students.

My children started attending the Blaine School district in 2002. My favorite thing about the school is their music program. They have the best music teacher I have ever met. He treats all the children with respect and consideration. he is strict, but very fair. The music teacher and his wife donate numerous hours helping the children and the school without pay.they do everything on their own time, such as the time when the band went to Japan. Their concerts are the best in the nation as far as I am concerned. The kids get excellent training in their individual instrument. The kids also seem to really enjoy their music classes and concerts and really care for and respect their music teacher, even if he is a bit grumpy at times, they know he cares for them and is only looking out for them. I do not have the proper words to describe the happiness and satisfaction I felt when I first saw my three children starting to play an instrument and how well they advanced, and the dedication they showed towards the music program. I am proud to say all my children developed their musical talents to a higher level mainly because of their teacher who dedicates his life to converting all his students into excellent musicians.

Blaine has an amazing music program, and art program. however it doesn't get you excited about school, the teachers even seem like they don't want to be there sometimes. Needs more creativity, but it is a small town. I feel perfectly safe there

Blaine schools are amazing. They say there isn't much bullying but it's quiet common in the school. The music in this district is phenomenal, high school, middle school, and elementary too. Overrall it's great!

Blaine High School gives its kids everything it has to offer. The academics are good, they have a good amount of AP classes as well as good after school activities. The only problem is that some kids would just rather not be academically involved.

A small school with a poor acedemic tradition that does not encourage creativity. It shows poor leadership in the administration.

Blaine has been a wonderful school. My son has thoroughly enjoyed going to Blaine from an acedemic standpoint as well as the sports programs. I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a small town environment and a very caring staff of teachers.

Blaine School is a good place on the outside. The Teachers are good, there are plenty of extra curriculars, and you think you'll be in a good environment. It is very difficult to find a group of students that will be a good influence on you. The major problem with Blaine would have to be the drugs. This is probably due to being close to the border. So, this would be true with any border school. However, sometimes, you just don't feel safe.
