As I read through the reviews I am somewhat surprised and felt compelled to add a rebuttal. My Preschooler currently has a long term teacher that is going on almost ten years with Evergreen. When I asked her about the reviews she herself was surprised as a lot of veteran staff is still here at Preschool and Elementary. I am a returning parent and have seen the changes the school has gone through, however coming out of the other side I am so pleased with the decision to stay! Communication has improved 100% and the curriculum has had a major overall. I know that change can be difficult for both parent and child but please be accurate before you post something negative. I toured over at Elementary and they have many long term teachers. Jill Ashmore and Mrs. Ball for starters! Both amazing and I am thrilled to say that my child and family will be a long term parent.

This school has change substantially in the last year. My experience is extensive in that both of my children attended pre-school thru 5th grade. As with any school or situation, there will always be different views, but up until 2013 I had no major issues with Evergreen Academy. However I do think it's important that parents understand that not a single teacher that either of my kids have had are still employed with this school - the turnover excessive. During our last year we had 3 teachers and it was extremely disruptive and negatively impacted our child. After 8 years we had never voiced an issue, but we found the new administration disrespectful and showed no accountability to resolving problems with inexperienced teachers and major gaps in communication.

After many years at this school, and exposure to other programs, I can honestly say there are no other educational facilities that are as invested in their students and families as Evergreen Academy. Each child receives one on one attention and learns, not off a curve, but as individuals. The staff is a close knit group off passionate, dedicated, and hardworking professionals who are genuinely striving to prepare this generation to become independent and confident young learners. As a teacher I am so please to work for a school so devoted to the academic, behavioral, social development of its student. The school has improved drastically over the past year both aesthetically, and executively; getting fresh coats of pain, new materials, and implementing some fantastic changes that improved out program greatly! The learning environments are also top notch and optimized for educational experiences. I highly recommend this school to any families looking for a great start to their child's education!

I am stunned that there are families out there that are not able to take advantage of such a great and supportive learning environment. My son flourished in this school. There are individual learning plans that are reviewed and updated to tailor the learning experience to you child. I went to another Montessori School in Woodinville and paid thousands more and did not get the quality of education that we did at Evergreen. That said, I have seen things that I have never seen before on this campus, but it is from the parents. Not the staff. Shouting and swearing at staff. Both moms and dads shouting and using profane language. Shameful! One time I couldn't help but overhear the shouting about the staff sending home a sick child. The dad was shouting at the teacher and principal! Where I come from you don't do that. Ever. These teachers spend more time during the week with our kids than we do. Treat them with dignity and respect.

I have been a teacher at this school for 5 years. This year is going so well and I could not be happier with the new Principal. She brings so much knowledge about the Montessori method of teacher and is investing in us as a team. This is my permanent home.

The best way to describe how management functions at this school would be similar to a politician or the nfl at the present time. I witnessed many families that had their kids removed because parents voiced concerns about these and other issues. Literally removed to where their kids had no childcare or school, and working parents suddenly had to scramble to figure out what to do with the kids. Its completely unacceptable for a school to do that to any child. Even if the child was a behavior issue (which they did not as the kids were all very well behaved) its best to transition the student to a new program as to not traumatize them. These kids missed huge chunks of school including standardized testing. As a consumer I will not give this business my money. If it can happen to others around me it can happen to me too. BEWARE. and by all means don't ever complain. I cannot fathom a situation where this is ever warranted. Be very careful if you decide to place your child here. They will promise you the moon and stars and then will leave your child on the street.

The teachers are wonderful. They are severely underpaid though. My daughter had gone to the school for 3 years and I was very pleased with her progress thus far. I really do enjoy the atmosphere and the teachers.

Words cannot express how pleased I am with Evergreen Academy Preschool. To say that the staff are nurturing, loving and attentive to my child is an understatement. After having my daughter in a daycare that was substandard and disorganized, I see how her self-esteem has blossomed over the last year. She is excited to be at school and rarely wants to leave. This Montessori approach is beautiful. Children learn best when they feel loved, supported and can interact and manipulate their environment. They learn naturally and effortlessly. I love that she is greeted warmly each morning and has learned so many interesting things! We have not had the experience expressed below by any means. We love Evergreen Academy and are excited to start our second year here

We love Evergreen! We have 3 kids there currently. After going to the Evergreen preschool on the same campus, we used public schools for our eldest for K and 1st. It was a disaster. We pulled that child out and went back to Evergreen for 2nd - 6th. Never looked back. Individual learning plans, small class size, excellent administration and teachers and the teachers have support. Ironic that the tuition is roughly the same that public schools spend per kid yet the educational product Evergreen provides is light years ahead of public schools. We highly recommend Evergreen. We just wish it went through 8th grade.

Evergreen Academy is a wonderful school. The staff is experienced, well-rounded, and pleasant. My child just finished a week of a speciality camp that was circus themed and she couldn't stop talking about it. I've noticed that the classrooms are going through some renovations and it looks like they are done by teachers. To me, that shows dedication by the teachers. I'm reading some of these reviews and I don't see where some of these parents are coming from. Never once have I ever had to pay for something other than school costs. Don't let the negative comments sway you. They're just not true and I don't see where people come off writing comments like that. My child always has a smile on her face when we pull into the parking lot and to me, that's all that matters.

Evergreen Academy is the premier private elementary school on the eastside. We have a rigorous, engaging, hands-on curriculum that requires students to reach their highest potential. Students are fortunate to be in smaller classes which allows for individualized instruction and our specialty classes are second to none. As many public schools are forced to cut their specialists due to funding we proudly offer Art, Drama/Speech, Technology, Library, PE, Music, and Foreign Language (French/Spanish). These classes are provided twice weekly for a well-rounded educational experience. Our after school programs and summer camps are not only convenient for working families, but highly sought after. Our families and children are wonderful and so supportive of our programs. Our Preschool and Elementary Principals are fabulous. Their knowledge of curriculum, best practices and leadership are appreciated by faculty and parents alike. When looking for an alternative to public education, I highly encourage you to visit Evergreen Academy.

evergreen has been a nightmare from 2012 after Ms . Bonnie left is a nightmare ,the higher management and the principals after Bonnie are totally incapable to run the school . The teachers were the pride of the school but the management made sure to take away jobs for all the old good certified teachers and replace them with cheap inexperienced teachers . Will never recommend the school to anyone ,its a mess. Hated working there , but loved my classroom and the kids .

Sadly, Evergreen Academy has suffered since the new administration came a year ago. What used to be a place where my child enjoyed attending, has become one where my child and classmates were emotionally mistreated, and he/she dreaded going. My child cried to me recently, "They have made me hate going to school!" Security at the school is inconsistent. For our family, it was a waste of tuition this year, to say the least.

My children attended the Pre-school side of this campus for the past couple years and the quality of teachers has diminished. They now hire young people with no experience. Lots of gossip, hiring of friends etc. In the past 2 1/2 years the Pre-School has had 5 principals and the current Principal has no regard for the families in her school. The Handbook states: "Parents are encouraged to review their child s development and maintain an open dialogue with the teachers and principals", but in all actuality if you make any dialogue; even down to why they cancelled the Preschool graduation without notifying parents, be prepared to take your children out immediately. Not because you choose to do so, but because they kick the children out if the parents make any waves at all. This has occurred to many children over the past year, because parents do not agree with the Curriculum and speak up. Children are caught in the middle and most certainly their best interest isn't taken into consideration. I wouldn't recommend this school to parents who are involved in their children's studies. You will not be happy with the outcome. I had to give them 1 star, which is to many in my oppinion.

Our daughter has attended Evergreen Academy in Bothell for the last three years. She is very happy there and we are very happy with the academics and the small class sizes. The school could use a bigger space but they do a great job working with what they have. The extended care and extra curricular programs as very good too.

I thoroughly enjoy this school. My son went to preschool there first and attends kindergarten. The transition was seamless. The small class sizes really help give kids the extra attention they need at the younger age levels. I haven't had much interaction yet with the elementary principal, but the preschool principal was amazing. She is well organized and highly communicative. The teachers are mature, organized and know how to communicate with parents. Parking is lame, but who really cares?

This school was good few years ago but it's gone downhill since it's become bigger. It talks about being in a "community", but the school only meant it when there wasn't any conflict or issues directly related to school. The location of the school is fine, but it has an on-going parking issues for the size of the school. The curriculum was not advanced at all. It used to able to tailor the need of the children, but now they are into the whole "well child". If you have any problems with the classroom or school, they will only deal with it behind closed doors when they had no choice. The school staffs and teachers are friendly and just okay. The OPT runs by a group of parents and often sponsored few school events. Most of the parents are fine and eager to do anything for their children at school.

My daughter attended Kindergarden here. Can't say enough of the teachers and principle. They take care of things and communicate thoroughly and concisely. It is a wonderful community where you are able to have a relationship with the school. It is no wonder they have a high rate of parent involvement. You'll want to be part of the school pride. The curriculum is balanced and challenging. The enrichment courses are varied and on site. Only sad I couldn't bring them with me to Vancouver, BC.

My daughter recently started at evergreen and I am very pleased about the school. They have a very well dedicated staff, very friendly and focus on the individual child. The afterschool is a little under my expectations but over all the school is near perfect.

I cannot say enough good things about Evergreen Academy. Our daughter attended Kindergarten there and had the best experience. They focus on the individual child and really take the time to challenge them on an individual basis. Our daughter was able to take French, Drama, Music, Computer classes, and Art..along with all the other basics. This school is worth every penny! Great communication between the staff and parents. So many fun, enriching after school activities.
