Educational philosophy and approach to learning Everett Public Schools is committed to improving the district’s educational system to meet the needs of 21st century students. Special education program details Through inclusive practices, the Everett Public School District provides a continuum of services and all students with any disability in their least restrictive environment. Cedar Wood Elementary has resource services that can support a range of disabilities. At our school we may offer other services on the continuum to support all disabilities, however, if those services are not available they will be offered at another school in the district.

English Language Learner program details Depending upon their, English Learners receive varying support. Newcomers and beginners receive English language instruction. Newcomers receive native language tutoring. Newcomers, beginners, advanced beginners and intermediates are pre-taught vocabulary, and utilize a computer-adaptive English language and literacy program. The progress of advanced students is monitored, and support is provided as needed.

Parent involvement details Cedar Wood Elementary values parents as partners in their children's education. We encourage parent and guardians to contact teachers and administrators directly. We regularly use our website, newsletters, conferences, Blackboard and In Touch programs for communicating important information to families.
