We did not have a good experiences while going there. I don't understand what people are saying when they say it's so great. It's not. The Kindergarden teacher pretty much rail roaded my daughter, yelling at her on her first day of school in front of other parents. Totally inappropriate. Not off to a great start. 1st grade was better. 2nd grade, the teacher was ok, but the class sizes are so big, she kind of got lost in the crowd. Also also the front office lady, gives a children a hard time for being late when it's not a childs fault. Why don't you talk to the parent instead of lecturing the child? Picking up your child is a nightmare. The principal stands out in the parking lot trying to wave cars through when there's no where for you to go. It doesn't help anything by doing that, just adding pressure to parents trying to pick up their kids. Honestly, it will work itself out. They don't let you park off to the side, out of the way. They want you to circle around like an airport. The school she goes to now, is a much better fit. She loves going to school now, her grades are awesome and is more out going. Leaving Kitsap Lake was the best decision we ever made.
My son left this school after two years. The teachers and staff were snobby. The learning environment is not very accomodating. It is not as great as everyone says that it is, but because of their test score reputation, and the nice new building, people think that it must be great. It irritates me when people say how wonderful it is because it's really not. If your child doesn't fit in with their 'perfect' expectations, then don't bring your child there. In my opinion this school is by far not the best!
Our school has wonderful, dedicated staff and you can see that reflected in our children. They are happy to be here and ready and willing to learn. Glad to be a part of a great school like this!
We have the best staff, students, and families. We are all one big happy family.
Kitsap Lake is commited to helping kids learn in a caring envirenment.
I love the way every staff member takes responsibility for any child they come into contact with and shows caring and kindness to all.
Kitsap Lake Elementary School is probably the best elementary school in Washington State! We have the most dedicated staff to the students and their familys. When walking down the halls you can tell that the staff enjoy every part of the day by how they greet you, and the students. When on the play ground the playground staff play with the children and get them envolved with games and activities. People in this community fight to get their children in this school because of the reputation that preceeds them! I am honored to work there!!!!
I have 2 daughters that attend KLE, and it really has been a blessing. The teachers are absolutely wonderful! They take the time to make sure every student has an understanding and is comfortable with the lesson at hand. The before school programs have made such a difference in my daughters education. I dread the day we have to change schools, my daughters have made KLE their home.
No school could do a better job at educating, loving, and holding kids, parents and teachers accountable . Incredible
We're a military family in the area who opted to put our child in this great public school instead of private school. We're thrilled with it: this school is working VERY hard to make sure the students suceed. I've also volunteered and have been impressed with the devotion to education.
I transfered my child to this school and education is great. My child loves this school and is happy with teachers, facilities and friends there!
Having been both a KLE parent, and a district employee at grade schools all over the district, I can say without a doubt, KLE is the best atmosphere for learning / teaching in the district. There will always be minor problems, but I've never been at a school where the staff and students work as well together to solve problems. The motto is 'Safety, Honesty, Respect, and Kindness' and in general it shows! Safety of course, and honesty, but where many other schools forget about, or never get around to, the respect and kindness part, these are emphasized equally here. Volunteering is very welcomed here. Two thumbs up for KLE!
Kitsap Lake Elementary has heart. The principal is bright, fun, motivating and very respectful of all. The teachers have very high standards for students academics and social interactions. The staff believes that every child belongs to every teacher, not just their classroom teacher. We all care very much about our kids and their families. Kitsap Lake Elementary is one of the top schools in the county for student achievement. They were just awarded the prestigious governor's award, 'A School of Distinction', for being a Washington State school that has made substantial continuos progress for six years running. Kitsap Lake is a wonderful place for your children. Come and visit, and see for yourself!!
This school is great! The teachers are nice and understanding. The whole school just has a positive energy. The school staff is nice and respectful. My few years here were the most fun years of my life. Honestly, I miss my teachers. They were so fun and cool. I wish i could go back to elementary school! I would reccomend this school to anyone who can't choose a school for their child/children.
I have three children who have been attending KLE for up to five yrs., and I can tell you as a parent that the teachers and staff really care about the kids. They help each child to do their best academically and socially . The school offers lots of opportunity for parents to be evolved in the class rooms, and going on field trips. I like the way the school has a partnership with the parents to make sure your child is successful in school. The school doesn't just teach academics ,but also teaches school spirit and respect for others and for ones self. The school also offers a great support system for children who have parent in the military. You could not ask for a better school.
KLE was a huge disappointment. Yes, they have many activities but the staff and even some teachers are more focused on how the school 'looks' to people than how the students feel. When the school was questioned on a certain incident we given 'feel good' answers and pushed out the door with no help at all. We are thankful to be moving into a new district so our children can go to school and feel safe and cared for. I would not recommend KLE.
I was truly thrilled with the level of concern the staff had for each and every student. My Kindergarten aged son received a wonderful education.
We have been invovled with KLE for about 5 years and have had a lot of fun. Volunteering and being a part of the PTA has been a great way to get to know the staff and see how things are done around here. I have a whole new appreciation for teachers! Although the PTA is lacking in the turnouts for meetings it is still there getting things done getting the money the students need to improve their school, and the staff is always there to help. Our family is proud to be a part of KLE, keep up the good work!
With three children attending Kitsap Lake Elementary we have been very happy with the all over quality. We were forced to attend West Hills Elementary for one year and it was a disaster. We even homeschooled one year to avoid going back to West Hills. We are grateful to be back at Kitsap Lake after being forced to move in order to stay within the Kitsap Lake boundries. We feel that Kitsap lake is probably the best in the district but still feel the district needs to do better. I would like to see more full school days added and some summer school classes offered.
As the PTA president for Kitsap lake school, and having 3 children attend this school for over 6 years I am appauled to see what I am reading in a couple of the negative reponses. As a PTA President I would like to say that our school has always had plenty of feild trips and activities for the children. our family nights are some of the best in the district bringing in well over 250 people everytime. As a parent there is no better school for me, having a daughter with a learning disability I can assure anyone that if it wasn't for the help of our teachers and staff, we could have been in real trouble. I have never seen a more loving and caring atmosphere. The entire staff cares for this school and it's kids.
