Columbia High School

There is a serious problem in this high school! some kids are mean, they harass and bully other kids and no one cares! The prinicpal and superintendent and atheletic director are all aware. My child does NOT feel safe in this school. And my child is not learning a thing!

while the higher standards are a possitive attribute, sometimes it is like trying to go to college in high school. some people dont plan on going to college (though i myself do) and they dont need all the prep stuff, it discourages from them even graduating high school

The community centers around the school. It is small enough that children soon learn every person that goes to the school. It allows close relationships to develop. It is also a lot easier to make it on varsity sports teams with so few students. Several students have found themselves in student government because no one ran against them. There is a band, but no choir. Sports teams consist of volleyball, football in fall. Basketball, wrestling and cheerleading, follow with tennis, baseball,and softball. No soccer, cross-country, drama, etc. The english department will teach your child to write and read well. Math and sciences are limited. There are two years of Spanish for foreign language. However, in the junior and senior year you can do Running-Start at the collage. It is easy to be involved they need every student to participate. If you want Mayberry you found it.
