The teachers at this school were nicer than I'd ever imagined. They care for you as a person, and worry about your life, your health & your future more than grades (which works well since the school doesn't have any grades)
One time I was in a classroom painting, and the principal walked in & asked if he could sit there and paint with me. He'd arrived at school the other day at 7 in the morning & had left at midnight & had worked nonstop all day. Every teacher there cares for the students & works to help them, instead of hurting them.
I love this school, my daughter started here as a sophomore and now is at the end of her Jr year. The interns are great for the kids to try different types if careers and find what they like. My daughter is able to go to big picture m-w-f, and then on Tuesday and Thursday she is staying all day at the PSSC down the street to do criminal justice. She loves it and has a very positive outlook for her future. At big picture the don't do report card like the traditional high school, instead they have exhibitions, where the kids present their work to a panel and they are scored based on what they present. Great program. Thank you Big Picture Staff, you guys ROCK!!
i love this school!!! i get to do what i want to do when i get older. Big Picture is helping everybody perpare for when u graduate high school. the internships on tuesdays and thursdays is a great way to help me know what i want to do.
Big Picture High is a school where students can get a head start in life; not only will they get the fundamentals of a profound education, they can explore there passions out in the real world. For example, students are given the privilege to go out on informational interviews and shadow work days two out of the five days in the school week. Ultimately, trying to get an internship at an environment that they one day can work at. With the support and help of the advisors and the inter-coordinator, Dan Posel, all that is becoming possible.
