EBE is great! My children love going to school there. The teachers encourage parent involvement in the classrooms. There is a new principal this year, and a new reading program they have started. The reading program breaks up the children by ability and not age, which is very nice especially for children who read above or below grade level. The PTA is active and very helpful. The school is well supported by the community.

My son's school was closed so I made the decision to move another district. I looked at all of the schools and their Great School ratings within a 50 mile radius and found Elger Bay. This school is wonderful starting with the principal who has a doctorate and is caring, approachable and very hands on. The teachers are wonderful and are proud of the school in which they teach. The PTA is active and parents are encouraged to work in the classrooms where their children are being taught. The reading program is unique and challenges all of the students at their level and is not based on age or grade level. You can see by the reading scores that the program is a huge success. It is wonderful to see a community pull together through sponsership, rebates and fundraising to make this school such a success in education.

Elger Bay Elementary on Camano Island is Fantastic! I haven't met a teacher there yet that didn't go above and beyond with each and every child there! All my children have attended Elger Bay and enjoy a learning environment in which they are encouraged, as well as challenged each day. Each teacher and the Administratvie Staff takes the time to know each child personally. The day Dr. Evavold took charge of Elger Bay we were definately blessed! He is a true leader! He goes above and beyond in his duties as a pricipal! I believe staff reflects the leadership! Dr. Evavold not only sets an example, but sets the standard! Families can expect to receive the best the educational world has to offer at Elger Bay Elementary.

Elger Bay Elementary is an amazing school for kids in the Stanwood-Camano S.D. Each and every staff member has provided a positive learning environment for all of my children who have attended here. My oldest child 'graduated' from the 5th grade at EB last year, and walked into middle school exceptionally prepared to handle the new and difficult expectations of the 6th grade. My younger children enjoy a learning environment in which they are encouraged as well as challenged each day. I am consistently amazed at how the staff at EB takes the time to know each child personally. We have also been blessed with the positive and capable leadership of a new principal this year, Dr. Evavold. Families can expect to receive the best the educational world has to offer at Elger Bay Elementary.
