I found this school full of bullies. There are some fabulous teachers there but i think the core of the problem lies in the community. Unfortunately, the community makes or breaks the school. The majority of teachers live in the town and are parents too. Something about this town that creates a bunch of bullies that are flat out mean, gossipy, rude people. The leadership has a huge mountain to overcome and no community support to change. Not sure if it can be fixed. Maybe with a miracle. And I agree that there are WAY too many movies included in school days. Ridiculous. But parents don't care. Wouldn't recommend the community as a whole.

I think the Davenport Elementary has made great strides in the last few years. Under the direction of the new superintendent, the staff is really starting to work together as a cohesive unit. Unfortunately, there still remains staff members who work the system & are just putting in their time. Unfortunately with the strength of the union in this state it is very difficult to address. I would like to see the elementary prinicpal take these people on though and make them more accountable. Movies every Friday in 4th grade - Really??? Always a few bad weeds in any field though unfortunately. As for the comments regarding kids roaming the streets at night - do you really think this is a school problem? Parents have to take responsibility too. I disagree with the disrespect at the school.

I will have to agree with the other parent who has written. This school has no administrative direction and/or support. My has family moved from another small town in the state of Washington and was surprised at all the teen violence there was in this town. Students roam the streets at night and are very disrespectful to each other and staff at school. I reallu do not see anything being done about the students attitude towards either one of these people.

I feel that this school is very out of touch with the developing state curriculum. Its multicultural awareness is much below standards. The teachers are not united together. The leadership provided by the superintendent and former principal is almost nonexistent. In a small town I would also expect more community involvement with the school which leads to more prepared, positive student relationships.
