Educational philosophy and approach to learning Everett Public Schools is committed to improving the district’s educational system to meet the needs of 21st century students. The district uses a data-driven continuous improvement model that provides teachers with a systematic method for delivering instruction and assessing progress so students achieve to their highest potential. Analyzing data, quality instruction, frequently assessing students for understanding, and providing real time interventions are all key parts of the model.

Special education program details Through inclusive practices, the Everett Public School District provides a continuum of services and all students with any disability in their least restrictive environment. Gateway has resource services that can support a range of disabilities. At our school we may offer other services on the continuum to support all disabilities, however, if those services are not available they will be offered at another school in the district.

English Language Learner program details Gateway has limited English language services. Intermediate students have a daily two-period class which supports the language arts curriculum, and students use a computer-adaptive program. Advanced students attend general ed classes. Progress is monitored, and support provided as needed. Gateway does not offer language support for newcomers, beginners, or advanced beginners, due to the small number of students. They attend Heatherwood Middle School; transportation is provided by the district.
