I ended up taking my kids out of Greenwood and homeschooling them. My 1st grade son had a great teacher who had to move mid-year, but my 3rd grade daughter was in a class where she was bullied and insulted publicly by her teacher. In truth, both my children were bullied (they are small for their ages). I am a certified teacher myself, so I know what to look for and what is considered acceptable. My daughter dropped two letter grades from her school in Ohio in just the 1st semester. My son is diagnosed with high-functioning autism. His teacher is great, but the support of the school was extremely lacking. He was punched in the nose on the first day of school on the playground and had to go to the nurse's office. It was documented that he had been there, but I never heard a word about it until he told me. Later I confirmed with the principal my concern, which was validated. I would absolutely not recommend Greenwood, unless you had no other choice. Even then, keep a high profile there, show up when you are not expected.

The teachers are kind and they do they're best with what they given. I do agree about the staff though. I do get cut off a lot by the secretary. The school does look very poor. I'm not sure how the school gets its funding. Having to live where the Army tells you is a real disadvantage to your childrens education. I'm considering home schooling after my child attending this facility.

I have 2 children enrolled in this school. A K-grader and a 4th grader. Both teachers have been nothing but great with my children. The office staff I do not have a good review on though. It is impossible for the princible to except any responsibility for the bullying going on on campus. It is frustrating to speak to the secretary, she never let you talk. We constantly get calls from the school recorder that hang up when we answer our phones! The buses drive on the playground where the children are running around. There are small children acting as cross guards. Very unsafe!

My son goes to greenwood his grades have gone up because of the teachers that help him out so much. As far as the rudness of the kids that is from home not school the teachers hands are tied in that effect. we at home also worked with my son as well as with the combined efforts of us and teachers for they do care. As far as the parking that is the base not the school. as far as the disrespectful teachers I have never ran into this at anytime. Mrs. Radcliffe

I believe that teachers at Greenwood are very good, but stressed and unable to get needed resources and supplies for teaching. I see stressed teachers, inadequate staff support, and poor students who don't recieve the proper classroom attention that they need and that they deserve. Where I moved from the state had the AR Reading program in place. My children who were taught reading under this model are now at college reading levels, and the oldest is 14yrs old! yet my 1st grader here, can barely read, has no drive to read, and is mostly discouraged about reading. Teachers are pushing for this program, and are getting nowhere!! What is wrong with this picture?! I love the teachers, I dislike the programs and support these schools lack. I am dissapointed in the education my young children are getting at the school, dispite the best efforts of teachers and student teachers.

The lack of respect from students towards staff is horrible. Students are allowed to be disruptinve in class, hit, kick, and scream, and the administration seems to do nothing. Shouldn't student/staff safety be a priority? The current principal (not Mrs. Miller) spends the majority of her time in her office with her door shut! Shouldn't she be out in the classrooms, checking on student learning? What is she doing in there all day?The district and some teachers seem overly concerned with making sure students improve their reading skills...can they read fast enough to pass a one minute timed test? When in reality, shouldn't the teachers and district be more concerned with are the children understanding what is being read? Not the best school on post by a long shot. The district seems to forget about this school as it has not been upgraded in many years. It's pathetic!

I absolutely do not like this school. The secretary interrupts you anytime you try to speak. Both parking lots are horrilbe. The bottom parking lot has pot holes constantly. The principal, Mrs. MIller (sweet lady), has attempted to keep the top parking lot les congested, but it just doesn't work. People drive up to the top parking lot and park in no-parking areas which cause children to nearly get hit, and accidents with other vehicles nearly happen. As for the school, itself, it's as if 'benchmarks' are all that matter to the teachers. We came from a school in Oklahoma where the students came first, and here it's as though all that matters is the benchmarks and scores and that a child can read fast enough. Well, I'm sorry, but just because a child can read quickly does not mean that they have comprehended everything they read.

I am highly disappointed with Greenwood. The classes are way oversized. There are no after school activities.
