HH is a great school! I have one student in 1st grade and 2 in preschool there. So far all of the teachers and specialists they have had are friendly, caring, inspiring instructors. They really want the best for their students and work very hard to help them learn. It seems there is a lot of extra help for kids that need it and plenty of challenge for kids that are strong academically. I have total respect for the principal, Ms. Godwin-Austen, and the respectful, supportive environment she helps to instill at this school. There is a lot of parent involvement, a very active PTA, and many great extra activities for the kids and parents to be involved with throughout the year. As far as I'm concerned, there are no negatives about this school.

This is our first year and I am extremely pleased with the curriculum and educational experience that my child received this year. This is a safe school and the prinicpal is absolutely wonderful, probably one of the best we've dealt with. My complaint is that the school lacks extracurricular activities/clubs which help round-out a school. Being new here, we hoped that school events would help us transition into the community, but were very disappointed to find few offered. Parents stick with who they know and are not very welcoming - which impacts how a new child adjusts to new friends outside of school. I am pleased that my child is receiving an education in a safe environment however, there are ways to integrate socialization along with education in our schools - which H.H.E. does not. Overall, good safe choice for children.

It is a wonderful school!! My children have been attending for 2 years. They have Kids way cafe foe lunch which gives the kids 6 choices of what they want to eat for lunch and they have a sald bar. They have a kindergarten bridge program the kids that are a little behind can go to school for 1 extra hour in the morning to get one on one teaching. It is a wonderful school.

I must disagree with the other review about the school putting fun before knowledge. We moved here from a different district which was fabulous but we still found Harbor Heights to be ahead with the curriculum. My kids had some catching up to do! The second grade teacher was excellent. I am disappointed in the way the PTA is handled though and that the kids don't have many field trips. I am also disappointed that the principal isn't more involved with the kids on a daily basis. While the school could improve in some ways, the education is good here.

As parents we have never been so displeased with a public school before. This school is basically a day care. Many of the teachers are disrespectful and would rather not be teaching. This school places fun before knowledge. There isn't one month that goes by that the students don't have days off and now the school year is getting even longer as we have been informed that the 2004-2005 school year will begin before Labor Day.
