I have children in all three grades. The teachers are excellent and respond to email concerns in a very timely way. Skyward provides historical information only (my child has failed a test or missed a due date). Few of the instructors, besides Science and Math, post any current homework or classwork information. It is difficult to know what assignments are coming. My kids have done track, drill team, year book, honor classes, honor society, band. The school works hard to make activities affordable. My kids receive a strong emphasis on Native American history/culture...probably more than usual due to the proximity of reservations in our area. However, her experience with Native American classmates has taught her to be cautious to not offend to avoid retribution. Overall, I am very pleased with the education my children are receiving at KMS.

This is an awful school. Horrible teachers and no control over bullying. Do not send your child to this school.

KMS embraces the diverse backgrounds of the students, offering AGATE (gifted) social studies and English classes, honor's math, an excellent band class, as well as classes for average and special needs kids. My daughter's a 6th grader and is enjoying KMS immensely. I've especially noticed the kindness and caring of her classmates, the prompt response of the teachers to parental concerns, and the effort of the staff and parents to put the kids first. Frankly, we were concerned about the middle school, as it rates a 6 rather than a 9 or 10, but we've found that our child has made good friends, is challenged and has the support of excellent teachers. I do wish that the school had a choir, more Spanish and more opportunities for parents to become involved, but I'm glad that my daughter is happy and challenged.

My youngest child is now in 7th grade and I have been very happy with KJH. The teachers are great and all three of my children have thrived. The ONLY complaint I have is that they are not great about getting notice of events out to parents ahead of time. Field trips, projects, pics, etc all seem to just spring up on you out of nowhere. Advanced notice would be nice - newsletter, note home, something other than the word of mouth from my child. I get the email alerts from KJH and NKHS and still the notice is short at best. Otherwise these are great schools and my children are very happy.
