Effective school leaders: Strongly agree

- a
Heather Frazier is dedicated and an effective leader who often goes above and beyond to help guide the school.

Develops character: Strongly agree

By structuring the school with multiyear classrooms (e.g. the 'youngers' class is K and 1st ) it fosters a sense of mentor ship in the children that tends to create a sense of empathy and compassion.

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

- a
The teachers are all very dedicated and frequently go above and beyond to support the children and the community. For example the often attend after hours and offsite community events such as Spring Camp, which is typically held at Camp Indianola.

Amount of homework: Strongly agree

- a
The staff assigns enough homework to challenge advanced students but generally encourages parental discretion with regard to how much is completed.

- a
An absolutely fabulous school nurtured and supported by a heavily engaged community of dedicated parents who share a common vision of the best possible educational experience for their children.

3 multi-age classrooms define this school: 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6. It requires 65 hours of parental volunteering per year, and the education the children get reflects the love and energy that these parents pour into their children. Children best suited for this type of education are self-motivated. Those kids who are easily distracted and do better with a structured environment may not flourish in this busy setting. The principal is leaving, and the new guy promises to be a breath of fresh air: he was vice principal 2 years ago and the staff and parents eagerly anticipate his arrival. PTSA is very active. The grounds are herbicide free (only elementary in district). On campus with Carl Sandburg elementary.
