Community school excels in Parent community, the parents can develop lifelong friends. The kids as well. The academics are low and the teachers limit any interaction between themselves and the parents. It is a closed system with parents encouraged to keep any problems or issues quiet.retaliation is the norm if a parent dares to question a teacher. Parents over the years have dropped like flies and pulled their kids.

The ability for each teacher to know each student (due to its small size) and the mandate to encourage each child to find their voice has been noticeable in just my child's first year there. The value of books and the students' valuing what the other students read is wonderful!

This school is part of the Lake Washington School District and all that provides. But more importantly it is the most loving and nurturing place where kids are taught respect for each other. It may not be for everyone, as they have requirements for parent involvement. I'd rather my sons leave with a good feeling of who they are & what they are capable of than a head full of knowledge and an empty heart.

Community School is involved with the students on a daily basis with regard to social interaction. Disputes are solved by the students themselves with help from the teacher(s). There are no grades but there are three partent-teacher conferences during the year. One is student-led. The children are encouraged to study what they are most interested in at the moment.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
