The Lynnwood Elementary Cedar Park school and Mountlake Terrace Junior/Senior High Cedar Park school are excellent. Because of the small class size, the students get a lot of personal attention from the teachers. The academics have been outstanding from even the earliest years. At the same time that our twins' kindergarten class had just finished reading their third book, the kids in the local public kindergarten class were just learning the letter N! Since the 5th grade our kids have been taking the SAT test, (which is made for 5th graders and up) and have been scoring Post High School in various subjects from that time on. I've been even more impressed with the kindness and patience of the teachers, and how they focus not just on academics, but also on teaching good values to the kids. They teach honesty, responsibility, hard work, kindness, and so on. It really sticks, too. When she was in Junior High, my oldest daughter told me that the goal was to make sure that if any student wasn't well liked, they wouldn't know it. There is also a website where parents can check their kids grades, homework and progress on projects. I am so happy with Cedar Park!

Both my son and daughter attend NSCS and have for the past 4 years. The school offers small class size (18 or less), and has a full compliment of sports, music and extra activities along with an outstanding program for students with learning differences. We are not a wealthy family but have found the schools tuition to be surprisingly affordable. This year the school undertook a major improvement program expanding the computer department to include coursework that can lead to technical certifications as Microsoft Certified Developers, Systems Engineers and administrators. (There aren't many colleges that have that!) All in all, this has been a great move for us coming out of public schools. My daughter is well on her way to being a 4 year 3 sport letterman, where she would not have been allowed to even play at a larger public school..
