This school has no leadership and is ran behind closed doors. I have lived in the community for 20 years and am thankful that my kids have graduated, or I would move. The administraion has lost touch with the community and their needs, not to mention the student body. Good families are leaving left and right because of poor treatment. It may be to late to fix this broken down system.
This district has been in a downward spiral for years, let us hope this is as low as it can go. There is absolutely no thought being put into electives that support the main industries of this community or the interests of the students. Naselle has an administration that protects weak teachers and overloads the strong ones to make up the difference. This same rule applies to the student body as a whole. The school has a general unfriendly feeling to it. You walk in and the staff stares at your instead of helping you find your way. My daughter has been bullied by the admin and other students. Don't bother reading the handbook they publish, they don't follow it. Without the "right" last name in this district you and your children will be bullied.
Ridiculously poor administration that supports teachers bullying students. Children can't learn an environment that is unfair. There are a some good teachers, but the older your student gets the harder it is to find them.
A National Blue Ribbon school, past three years Washington School of Distinction, a yearly leader of state test score results in Washington, a leader in technology integration into the classroom, small class size, excellent teachers, and a caring supportive community make this school one of the best anywhere!
:Naselle's administration effectiveness has gone up and down over the years. It is currently reaching an all time low. The grading system Naselle uses to keep us "informed", is often not completed by teachers. It isn't until parents get the paper copy in the mail do we really see what our childs academic progress is. When administration is contacted they repeatedly refer parents back to the teachers, who have endless reasons why the grading is behind. There is a lack accountablity for the teaching staff. This school needs to get back to supporting the students in their building, and make the teachers do their job. My child has mentioned several times that the high school teachers often leave the room completely during class. I have brought this to the head office several times, but nothing seems to change.
I think overall Naselle is a good school but I do think there are thing they could work on like the lunch program. In high school students aren't getting what they ordered. A survey taken by the Freshmen class showed that at least 2 times a week students did not get what they ordered for lunch.I think all the teachers are great and I love how each student gets individual attention. -Samantha Bauer
It's sad to see the negative comments posted. Naselle is the best school in the county...And those who are actively and positively involved know it. The teachers put in a lot of time and effort to educate the kids, the administration is concerned about the safety of all, as demonstrated by the correcting of the air quality. Lots of time and money put into getting that issue taken care of. (I guess there's no pleasing some people.) The community participation at sports events has tripled from previous years, the morale of the staff & sports programs has greatly improved, and naselle can boast a successful music and drama program. Great staff, administration and a board that finally works together without overblown egos. Naselle=aaa+++
We love naselle. The administration is doing a great job. The integrity of the sports programs have improved 1000%....The kids look great in the suits before the games. What a great tradition to start again. It's obvious the basketball team has more pride in themselves. Hold the standard high and kids will rise to that level. Keep up the good work!
