Great school with excellent teachers and wonderful curriculum. I have 2 children that have been there since they were 3 and both of them have excelled both academically and socially. They love to go to school and always come home excited about what they did that day. Well worth the price for a good education where my children thrive.

Our child started at DKH Montessori from 1 year old through 3 years old. Our child started off in the mornings a couple times a week and moved up to 5 days a week because our child loved this school so much! We are moving away soon and we will miss this school very much. The teachers are caring and genuinely have passion for what they do. The tuition is very affordable especially when compared to other Montessori schools. I highly recommend this school to everyone, particularly those with younger children.

The amount of directive language used by the teachers here is appalling! I constantly see the teachers in my child's class TOWER over the 3-5 year olds YELLING at them "DON'T DO THAT, NO!!!!!!" My child is constantly telling about how there is always a child in time out. According to several reputable sources (Redirecting Children's Behavior by Kathyrn J. Kvols, to name ONE source) a child should be provided with OPTIONS BEFORE being subjected to a time out. 95% of the time a child can be re directed with their confidence in tact. It truly saddens me to see the verbal abuse these children endure.

I believe that DKH instills a love of learning and independent thinking in its students. My 3 children have all attended DKH. They are each very different and the teachers have tailored their instructional methods for each child. My eldest child is currently reading several grade levels above her grade and I attribute that to the strong foundation she received at DKH. The staff is very kind and caring and very approachable.

I am constantly being disappointed by this school. There have been times when I walk in during pickup and dropoff, and am shocked to hear how the teachers will speak to the children. Obviously they feel the right to yell and put down the children. Also, I've listened many times to the staff talk to each other. At times it's very rude and demeaning. I do not like my child being exposed to such ugliness. While there are some teachers I find satisfactory, overall this place is in need of new management!! They are extremely unprofessional. This place wreaks of hypocrisy and selfishness, I will never recommend this school to anyone that I care for.

I have had four children go through DKH, and I have been nothing but pleased. All my kids loved to go to school everyday, and were more than prepared for public school. The teachers were very genuine and caring.

Both of my children have attended DKH and I am so happy with the care they have received. Both are ahead academically my 5 year old is reading!!! The teachers are wonderful! They talk to the children, not at or down to them.

Worst experience is all i can say about this school. Not only is it high priced but you do not get what you pay for. If you look around on the internet you will find other bad reviews and i would never recommend this school to anyone. We recently took our child out of this school and are glad we did. The school is in shambles and needs to be repaired. Many of the good teachers that use to be here have left. We have had really good experience with other montessori's and this is not one of them. I suggest if you are living in whidbey and in need of a good preschool etc go to coupeville montessori they care about the kids not the paycheck. I don't know about the communication others are talking about.. When we asked we got very little feedback

My daughter has attended DKH since she was 18 months old. She's now in the 3-5 year old program and I couldn't be happier. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. I don't think you can get this level of one-on-one attention for your child and this caliber of teachers anywhere else (and certainly not for this price). The teachers are all fantastic. They are patient, calm, and able to handle anything. I love that they take each kid at their own pace and that the learning is fun! My daughter is way ahead of other kids her age because of this school and its wonderful teachers. The differences at face value may not be apparent, but it's the subtle differences between this school and other preschool programs that absolutely makes it worth the extra cost. I wouldn't take my daughter anywhere else.

High cost is not reflective of what you receive. Great 2 year old program, but I chose to send my preschooler elsewhere for similar education at 1/3 the cost.

Very happy with this school. Communication between teachers and parents happen every day and I always know what is going on with my children. Since my children have attended the Montessori program, they are 1 or 2 grade levels above average in both reading and math. The teachers and aids here are caring and patient-- a great environment.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
