I have been a teacher for 29 years and a parent of four who went through the public school system. Marcus Whitman has been a very pleasant experience for me, as the administration works hard to make the school a consistent and comfortable environment where student learning is a strong focus. The teachers, on the whole, are compassionate, caring and dedicated professionals who stay current in their fields of study. Most students are cooperative and care about their learning. My only complaint is that there are a handful of students who don't care, and some of them disrupt the learning of the rest. The steps of discipline go on for a long time before a disruptive student is removed, which wastes time in paperwork & phone calls. However, putting this on the positive side, students are given many chances for success, and some difficult students do mend their ways and succeed.

Marcus Whitman is such an awesome school and I think it deserves more credit than it is getting. The teachers and staff are great and always strive to help us learn. The first thing on their minds is always to help us be successful. This is only my first year, but I believe that Marcus is a great school!

With several hundred kids to manage I think they do a pretty exceptional job at Marcus Whitman. Now with the possible help from a passed levy it may even that much better. Academics, sports, Music extrcurricular activities are wonderfull ...we didn't get to say by to Mr ODonnell Hope your having a happy retirement coach!

I was a student at Marcus Whitman through 7-9 grade and i enjoyed every minute of it. From its athletics, classes, and clubs/activities, Marcus had helped me develop into the person I am today. Unlike the ignorant parent who gave the school two stars even though they have NO idea what it is like as a student, I appreciated the staff and just the environment overall. There is not another school out there that can compare. Marcus Whitman has inspired me to become a teacher in the future so that I can give kids the same kind of experience that I did.

I don't like how they have a babysitting class for the students who do not do their homework at home. They allow kids to play games listen to music or whatever they like and call it homeroom. I also don't think that having block classes and rotating every other day classes are a good idea. I think that the children need all of their classes every day and should be made to work for their grades, not just hand it to them because they came to school. Not impressed at all!

I went to school here for 7-8 and then was enrolled in 9th for the first semester. I am now a Sophomore at Mark Morris High School in Longview, Washington, and i cant express enough gratitude for the teachers and staff there. They helped me come up from a grade 'A' procrastinator in 7th grade, to an honors English and Math student here at Mark Morris. I just wanted to thank you all. Travis Gould
