I just transfered into this school after being bullied out of another and I couldn't be happier with the change. All of my teachers are great and the academics are molded to each individuals needs. The academics are challenging and ahead of private school standards. They enforce rules and discipline very well at Ballou. All the students are very nice and respectful to each other and to teachers. The principal, Ms. Bates, made sure she came to talk to me on my first day even though she had 800 kids to watch over. I could not be happier with Ballou Junior High.

I am the parent of a 7th grade student. I could not have asked for a better experience for her transition into junior high. The teachers are incredible, very easy to reach if there are concerns, up lifting and positive to the students. I am proud to say my daughter is a Bruin and would recommend to anyone transferring into the area.

I go to this school and i think it's great. It has all the teachers you would want and opportunities are offered to all students. The new vice principle seems to do everything he can to keep us all safe and content. About harrassment, I'm not at all worried. I do hope that it will offer something more challenging than honors. I love the Ballou's library, it's the best. Overall, i think Ballou Jr. High is a great school with great teachers.

Ballou JH has supportive teachers. There is weekly 'Bruin Time' for after-school help and study time. Many of the teachers have additional after-school study/help times available. We have worked with teachers in the mainstream classes as well as the classes for kids with special needs. I have found the teachers and coaches to be very supportive. This school emphasizes academic performance before athletics. Harassment policies and the like are taken very seriously. Online access to grades and teacher email is available. This is my fifth child to go through JH and I have found this to be an excellent school. Open communication with the teachers is a MUST, regardless of what school is attended. Ballou JH staff work with students and the parents to encourage success.

This school emphasizes academic performance before athletics. All student are made to feel good about themselves and their ability to excel beyond standard requirements. There are great music and art programs. There is after school tution available to help students with their needs. The PTA gives great support to the WASL exams. Students practise WASL exams in preparation for the real exams. Students also get special treats before and during the exams to encourage them to do well. My daughter was rather worried about going to junior high but the school made the transition smooth and enjoyable.

I have found this school to not meet my childs needs when it came to all subjects in education. Harrasment policies aren't strict and teachers aren't intact with the students. Many students don't get the special attention they need which results in losing them early in the educational process.

The students at this school are very polite and respectful. The principal works very hard to keep this environment. There are many teachers who really care about the students and it shows in the classroom.
