One of my children attended the Republic Schools K-12, the other transferred in during first grade. The academic programs are admirable, though a lack of community support has resulted in many out-dated examples in texts and equipment. The teachers are exemplary, but don't stay long... which seems a testament to the Districts ability to hire quality teachers, and their inability to pay a sufficient wage to keep them. Sports is at the center of our School's existence. A generally good thing, but it sometimes occurs at the expense of academics. Parent involvement is phenomenal but, again, sports is generally the beneficiary of this involvement. Odd thing, when my children applied to college engineering programs, no one asked where their school finished in the b-basketball tournament... but they were very interested in the science and math programs. In these areas, Republic has room to improve.

I lived in Republic my whole life while going to school. I live in Spokane now, and would like for child to attend a school like Republic's and not a big city school! There was always room for improvment, but for the most part Republic gets an A+.
