Incredible school, amazing and dedicated staff that truly love and accept Every single student! Every teacher is constantly striving to learn and better themselves as teachers to better the students. I was a student teacher here and felt so welcomed and I can only hope to be teaching in a school like this one day!
Principal likes to wait until two days before school starts each fall to notify families about classrooms changes, ill-conceived and poorly planned program launches and teacher assignments to avoid difficult conversations and dialogue with parents. Not the best way to run a school...and she's not winning many fans these days.
Rachel Carson is the best! It has a hand-picked staff! All staff collaborate, team, assess and analyze student work to help guide their instruction. The atmospher is happy, student friendly, and enviornmentally sound.
It's a new school that I'm proud to support because of the environmentally friendly and supportive ways that it was designed. My favorite part is the garden on the roof. It is named after Rachel Carson, the first famale enviromentalist and they hope to follow in her foot steps in terms of taking care of earth and teaching the students about conservation.
Too many opinions and from staff with no children. Nobody has perfect children, not even here in Sammamish! (Sorry to disappoint some) Experience is the best teacher! I'm sure most of us have taken Psychology, Sociology,Communications, & Development courses and none of it has helped me with parenting. One size doesnt fit all so stop recommending talks with counselors, Jeez!
