My son Thomas when he was in first grade was identified with additional social and emotional needs. The assessment, multidisciplinary plan, and follow through were amazing. He is in second grade and improved 80% in my mind. He doesn't have panic attacks and has begun to make friends and feels part of his school. His confidence and grades are quite good.
My daughter Erica has a teacher with 30 years experience who makes practical suggestions to help a normal child.
At Olympic View we feel we are in great hands.
We transferred here from a high profile private school. Since my child has been at this school he has improved in every subject area dramatically. He came home from the first day proclaiming that he goes to a real, bully free school. Terrific parent support and stupendous teachers makes this school a gem.
Olympic View Elementary has the best staff and students of any school. Our staff and students care about each other and about helping our earth. They actively compost leftover food from lunches, grow plants to sell at the annual plant sale, and recycle faithfully. My three children have all attended Olympic View and I wouldn't have it any other way.
We had a couple kids in Kindergarten there and they loved it. We are highly pleased with the wonderful teacher, Mrs. Heindl. Unfortunately for the school, Principal Moynihan will be at a school in Serbia in 2008+. Loads of fun activities, high parent involvement.
Excellent teaching and administrative staff. Parent support of all activities is above average. Extra curricular activities are a plus at this school. Variety of in class/school activities is above average. Class size is excellent. Computer use is excellent. Great playground. My only complaint is that the carpet needs to be replaced throughout the school.
