Northwest Yeshiva High School

I am a second semester senior! I love yeshiva an d I am going to miss it next year but I am really glad I got to go t o this school. I think that academically, yeshiva is one of the too schools in the state. But what really makes this school so good is the community and the teachers. Teachers here really care about us. If you need extra help, every teacher will give it to you. They will meet you at lunch,stay after school or do whatever they can to help you do your best. I also want to talk about the students. Yeshiva is a real community. When I first started as a freshman, I was surprised to find out there were so many students from other schools. I know that the friends I made here will be good friends forever. School can sometimes get very challenging,especially junior year. But it is so worth it! Thant you yeshiva!

Great school. Wonderful faculty. The teachers and staff care about the development of the whole student. My daughter is getting a first rate education. She is already a stronger writer and thinker than I am! Although the teachers challenge the kids to achieve at a high level, they also nurture them a long and help them find success. This goes for the administration too.

This is a small school and they really foster a community feeling where teachers and administrators really look out for each student and encourage them to reach high and attain their goals. My child is happy and doing well. I was hesitant at first about sending my child to yeshiva because of the reputation for challenging academics but I underestimated the amount of support and nurturing and accommodations that the school provides. It also isn't all academics. There seems to be a strong emphasis on the arts and drama and sports. And the student body is wonderful. Student clubs are open to all regardless of grade. Students seem to care a lot about their school and community.

I am a freshman at the yeshiva. I just finished the first semester. It was an adjustment from middle school but I liked it a lot. The first quarter was hard because I was getting used to new teachers and new expectations but by 2nd quarter, I had made the transition. At yeshiva, the teachers are always there for you and one of the things that I learned during the 1st semester is that they want to help you and they want you to do well. One of the math teachers stays after school each day for an hour to give any students extra help or explanation, even students not in her class. My Language Arts teacher always grades our essays with so much detail and explanation that it probably takes her an hour to grade each paper and she lets us rewrite a final draft. In the beginning of the school year, Language Arts was my hardest and least favorite class but now it is one of my favorite classes. I am becoming a better writer and the teacher is always there for us when we have questions or need extra help. I think yeshiva is a good place to go to high school and it is a good place to go if you want to get into a good college too.

I just completed Junior year and while it was incredibly difficult balancing a heavy workload of general and judaic studies, sports and a social life, I made it work and all the teachers were extremely helpful. For example, after school math help with mrs cathcart, help with torah fair from rabbi brody and lots of extensions. I also love all the students at Yeshiva. I can't imagine a better place to have spent my high school years

My son just completed his freshman year at NYHS. We are extremely pleased with the school. From the beginning we saw that the staff cared. They met with our son the prior spring at his middle school for the interview process. They supported him completely with his individual learning style. Our son qualified for additional support and they provided a daily tutor to patiently prepare him for assignments and tests. The administration is approachable and truly cares about the social and academic success of our son. NYHS holds each study to a high moral code of conduct. Each student gives back to the community with service hours required as part of the curriculum. They accepted my son for all of his strengths and areas needing growth and they are moving him steadily forward with high expectations. Our son knows that his teachers care about him and believe in him.

my sons came out of high school so much more prepared for college than I was. They have also become stronger in their faith and observance. Great school that pushes our kids and helps turn them into great young adults.
