Overall security is concerning. There is no desire to fix problems that they clearly have. And a huge lack of standard policies and procedures that any public school would have and follow for children safety. There is a huge lack of options available to the students, limiting their opportunities in their future. From having no secondary language to virtually no computer usage and availability in classrooms or a computer lab. All of which leave much to be desired when paying for your child's tuition. And again are standard with the local public schools. The teaching staff has been great, and I couldn't sing their praises enough. But the overall office/church side of operations needs to have the same focus on the school first, and not just view this school as a ministry/income of their church.

Teacher effectiveness: Agree

Again teachers vary year by year and class by class. They are caring and listen to suggestions from us. My children have had a good experience thus far.

Amount of homework: Agree

Homework varies year by year and class by class. I don't mind the amount of homework. My children would rather not work hard but they need the push to succeed.

Develops character: Strongly agree

Shorewood asks the students to do their best and be honest. They have not been perfect but neither has my children. The school has challenged my family to take a higher road and admit mistakes and forgive when wrong or wronged. Shorewood has confronted my children when they were wrong and kindly brought them back to a better choice pattern.

I have had several children in the elementary, middle school and high school. They have blossomed in their friendships, academic abilities, athletic skills and their Christian faith. The diversity of ethnic backgrounds has helped my children feel comfortable. The high school has sadly closed due to lower enrollment but my children will continue to be in the middle school and elementary. The sports (track, volleyball, basketball, flag football) have allowed my children to participate and succeed. The before and after school programs have been helpful and my children enjoy them. The music programs; band, worship team, recorder, bells; have allowed my children to develop musically. There is a change in the leadership this year so we look forward to a continued family atmosphere where my children can blossom. Thanks Shorewood.

This school needs a lot of improvement. Since offering school through 12th grade the school has gone downhill very fast. The grade school portion is still top notch, but the junior high and high school need a lot of work. The teachers at the higher levels, including the leadership, need to learn how to be truthful, not show favoritism to those who are students of the staff. This is a huge problem for the students that are outside this sector. They also need to stop making excuses for the behavior of their favorite students. It seems to get wiped under the rug and not tended to fairly.

I've gone to shorewood since kindergarten and it is a great school. All the teachers are extremely friendly and helpful, and the kids are just as great. If you are looking for a great school to start you child at or to continue their education this is the place to go!

Our twin girls have gone to school at SCS since they were in the 5th grade. They are now in the 7th grade and we have nothing but good to say about this school. The quality of the teachers, principal and the students is excellent. The atmosphere is peaceful and any issues are dealt with quickly, fairly and effectively. I would not hesitate to recommend SCS to anyone. By the way, this school now goes through the 12th grade and there are over 200 students in the school. They also have more sports programs which are available and activities for the students are growing yearly

This school is AMAZING. I have nothing but good memories from the 10 years I spent there (pre-k to 8th). I would have loved to continue through high school there, however I was one year shy of their new addition of grades 9-12. All of the teachers (most of which still are teaching there) were so loving and truly inspiring in mine and all of my school friend's lives. Shorewood Christian is full of real, genuine Christian people, both teachers and families. It is crystal clear that all of the teachers set their first priority is to live a Christ like life fallowing Jesus and to share it with their students, and they make sure to share the love of Christ in a non-"religious" way. Plus, they have an amazing teaching curriculum and teachers who are great with making learning both fun and high quality. This school has education that you cannot put a price on because it is that amazing!
