Horizon has become a top notch pre-school! Horizon School has recently gone through a period of reorganization and has come out better than ever! We've had two children attend over the years, one of whom is currently enrolled in Project Transition. The staff is caring, dedicated, and motivated to teach and lead. The school offers perks like a computer lab, and an indoor gym with Gross Motor Curriculum everyday. The kids go on field trips, and they put on parent performances throughout the year. As a parent, my top concerns with selecting a preschool were that my kids were in a safe environment, having fun, and learning what they needed to succeed in elementary school. Horizon was the only school that I found to meet all of these requirements. I highly recommend taking a tour and seeing for yourself.

Horizon is a great school. They offer drama, Spanish, physical education, ballet and more. I highly recommend this school to a parent that is looking for an educational learning environment for their child with a close knit community of families.

I have 2 children, the older attended from Pre-K thru Kindergarten and transferred smoothly to the Shoreline School district for First grade. The younger is currently in Project Transition and we intend to keep him there for Kindergarten also. I really cannot express how impressed I am by this school and the development levels of my children. I'm amazed by the participation of all the children in the school shows, yoga and Spanish programs. The biggest complaint I get from my children when I pick them up at the end of the day is that they don't want to go home because they enjoy Horizon so much. The teachers are really there for the children and are dedicated to make Horizon a growing experience for them.

We have been very pleased with the pre-K program at Horizon school. Amazing curriculum includes weekly music and Spanish classes, physical activity, math, language arts, art and so much more. Wonderful value for a small, community school! There are some young staffers but they are mostly aides - and they love the kids. The director has been there for over 15 years I believe. There are parent programs and field trips. Communication has been great - I'm constantly getting email updates from our child's teacher as well as 'what's new' notes home in the cubby. Nice emphasis on both play and learning. Horizon School has been a great choice for our family.

I agree, the staff is very young. The administration does not include ALL Parents. Reminds me of High Schoo. Very clicky. Kids are loved but it is an expensive version of a daycare

Staff is very young and inexperienced. Program seems more like glorified daycare. Administration is not terribly interested in parent volunteers. No communication with parents about programs. However, they care deeply for the students in the program.

This is the best school any parents can dream of, my daughter went there for 4 years, she had learn so many infomation on her little head, so much of showmanship (thanks to so manay little school play each year). She is now in the high-cap program in Shoreline among with a lot of her other Horizon schoolmates. It's a great school.

Hurray For Me school has a terrific program for children who love hands-on learning, drama, and thematic learning. There is strong parent involvement.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
