My son started at GPHS the first year it was open as a Freshman, experiencing both academic and social success. He participates in the renowned Marine JROTC program that encompasses 3 high schools. The academic atmosphere is phenomenal -- it seems at times more like a community college than a HS. Students are involved in decision making, and have a real feeling of ownership. Discipline is excellent, and problems are few. Recently, when my son was ill, he didn't want to stay home! There is a good balance at the school between academic and social success. Athletes are encouraged to excess, but not at the cost of their academics. Recently, for homecoming, students were nominated from several various groups throughout the school, providing more diversity for the student body to select their King and Queen. We attend out of district & are moving to the area because of GHPS.

My son transferred to glacier peak from another school in the Everett school district. Wow! what a difference. The students, teachers and staff are all so nice and helpfull. No 'thugs or bullies'. The grass really is greener on the other side! we are lucky to be at such a nice school and learning environment.
