This school is more than exceptional when it comes not only to academia but in every other way most other school lack; the personal "vibe" this school gives off is more than conducive to an educational settings, but the more personal relationships between students and faculty are really what makes Havermale so special. While many of Havermale's students come from not the best of backgrounds, Havemale provides a safe place to be at while still encouraging learning. Every student at Havermale finds their own niche in the small student populous and thrives there as an individual, whereas if they were to be attending one of the more "mainstream, cookie-cutter" schools out there such as Lewis and Clark their individuality would be threatened by cliques and the cut-and-dry approach many of the teachers have.

For the first time in his life, by 9th grader cares about school and is thriving at Havermale. That tells me the school is doing something right!

This school needs much improvement. While many of the teachers really do care about the students the academic standards for students is way too low. Also the teachers and staff don't really know what is happening at school when the students are not in class. There is no homework and it is easy to get an A. The students are not prepared for re-entry into a mainstream high school or for college. There are not many extracurricular activities for students. Also if your child is acting out they will easily find other children to act out together.

This school is a wonderful school for personal and alternative learning possibilites. The teachers are great and thanks to the small size of Havermale, they are able to connect with the students. Though the school lacks in all other areas i.e. there is no place to practice music, and sports are very limited, academic skills are highlighted. Having the daycare in the school has helped to teach my student the hardships of teen parenthood are also exposed her to the realities of adulthood. The realism this school is able to provide my child is priceless and is unmatched. Parent involvement, teen and adult is on an average level, though not overall impressive. In all Havermale is an excellent opportunity for a child who needs special attention in some academic areas to recieve the help he or she may need. I highly recommend this school if this meets your unique needs.

I think havermale is a great school for students whor are behind. I was once a student at havermale I really enjoyed going to school. this was a very big thing for me. In elementry and middle school I would refuse to attend school when I attended havermale I loved going to school. I liked that there was more attantion on the students. The classrooms are smaller. There are less fights than the other distict81 high schools.I went to havermale almost 2 years behind caught up and was planning to graduate on time I have now moved out of area but plan on returning when I can.
