Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

SVLA is the best. My son was tested as both gifted and ADD. He was doing well in his school but was very frustrated. He loved to learn, but was beginning to hate school. He attended SVLA from 7th - 8th grade and loved it. It proved enough structure to keep him on track and enough freedom to explore venues he and I really wanted to explore. Think of this as a well structured, well guided home school. The teachers (who are the absolute best) teach the core material and teach it well. There is a very low student to teacher ratio. You and the student can spend the remainder of the time really diving into other material. The only negative about SVLA is that outside the core classes, they have little to offer. That is, the class selection is limited. Because of this, my son started his 9th grade year at CV high school. But, because of SVLA, he is taking mostly 10th and 11th grade classes and excelling. Again, SVLA is the best and the teachers there are absolutely great.

This school has been wonderful for my daughter. They really strive to make sure the children are learning what they should and support parents fully through the homeschooling part of the program. They are very kind and attentive with the children and the understanding their needs and skill levels. They have provided the kids with extracurricular activities that regular homeschoolers do not have an opportunity to do like karate, swimming lessons, gymnastics and orchestra. The orchestra teacher is one of the best around! They have opportunities to try each of these. Parents do not need to be afraid to be involved because of the super support and friendliness of the staff at SVLA. I am so thankful for the help and support as a homeschooling mom.
