Woodrow Wilson High School 2

This school could be a lot better if the there were better academics for the students whom want to learn and be educated. The ones who don't make it hard for the others because all they want to do is cause trouble. Don't get me wrong some of the teachers are dedicated in teaching, while others are the same as the students gossiping and stuff. This was the best school, but now students are going else where like Independence or MSA so that they can have a decent education and not all the drama. If this school wants to do something, it needs to get back to they way they were before when everyone was wanting to go there, not run away from it.

This is a fantastic school with a strong administration, highly qualified teachers, great school spirit and a rigorous curriculum. In addition, this school employs high safety standards for all students and employees.

this school is probably the better one in the county but caters only to average students.AP classes are offered, but AP quality material is not taught in these classes. The small % of students that pass the Ap test with a 4 or 5 only do so because they come from the strata of society where parents make arrangements for private help. There are science classes where students do not do even a single lab all year long.

I'm a Woodrow alumni and I loved it. Most of the teachers and administation truely care about the students. Students that are collegebound will find an excellent curriculum as well as kids who have technical aspirations. The ACT (the county vocational school) is within walking distance and it's easy is to incorporate. On top of that, the student body is about as diverse as your going to get in West Virginia. Race didn't ever seem to be an issue at Woodrow and students are taught to be understanding and tolerant of others. The atmosphere is one of both learning and friendship. The sports program is also superb. Woodrow has excellent football and basketball teams as well as soccer, baseball, tennis, and softball. Students are encouraged to be physically active. Extracurricular activities are varied and almost any interest is covered. I'd be remise if I didn't mention the really great auditorium or the football stadium.
