Thank you for your feedback. Grace Christian School is regionally accredited and provides an excellent educational opportunity to each and every student. Grace Christian School embraces families from every ethnic background and counts it a privilege to partner with parents in the education of their children. We provide a challenging instructional program for students from Preschool through 12th grade, in a structured and loving Christian environment. Our commitment to Christian education is as strong today as it was in 1978.
The teachers at Grace Christian School are absolutely wonderful. They truly care about the children and work with the parents to help children instill Christian values and provide and excellent education.
Grace Christian is a wonderful school where my daughter is challenged in a positive way to strive for excellence. She is taught The Word of God and given the opportunity to excel in her strong areas, as well as strengthen her weaker areas.
We have two children at gcs. What a blessing this ministry has been to our lives. They have a dedicated faculty. Not a perfect faculty, but one that is dedicated, one that loves the Lord, and one that loves children. The teachers here are underpaid especially compared to public school standards. Both of our children have enjoyed their learning experience at Grace. They differ in their learning styles and abilities, but both have benefited from being enrolled at gcs. I would strongly recommend this school for people that are looking for a quality Christian education. The only thing that would make this school better would be if it was free....but remember...you get what you pay for. In other words...it is worth every penny!
I am very disappointed with Grace Christian. I would not send my child there if they are of any other race then Caucasian. One of the teachers told my child that he couldn't do the school work and it was to hard for him. A teacher should never say that to a student. Took him somewhere else and they said he is advanced. A christian school that doesn't practice what they preach. I was warned and should have listened. I thought they would be the best and was very disappointed.
I have had nothing but a great experience with Grace Christian School. The staff and the teachers are all very devoted. They go above and beyond to help each child succeed. It's great to see them provide excellent guidance starting at a young age.
The teachers are excellent. They have open communication with me and will meet with me if I have any questions about anything. My kids have improved so much and are learning a lot. It's a great school that has the right amount of structure to make the kids successful.
I am very satisfied with Grace Christian School. I really like the progress reports my children receive on a weekly basis. The staff is very attentive and I never have a problem getting a hold of anyone. The education is great and I really feel comfortable knowing my children are in goods hands.
My daughter has been attending Grace Christian School for six years. The attitudes of the teachers is what really makes this school stand out above the rest. They genuinely care about each and every individual student and are concerned with their success. I am very pleased with the education my daughter in receiving at Grace Christian and I highly recommend it for anyone to come check out.
Grace Christian School is a such a refreshing difference from public schools! The caring administrator knows each student and their individual needs! The teachers are very knowledgeable and creative in their classrooms and each student is always welcomed by the warm and friendly student body. The academics are challenging and successful at preparing students for college. They also have just as many extra-curricular activities as competitors such as: choirs, band, private music lessons, art, social clubs, basketball, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, baseball, softball, and others! All which are performed with excellence and good spirit! Above all, GCS is all about teaching your child how to live a life that honors their parents, uplifts their friends, and glorifies God. If you want your child to be a well-rounded, highly educated, and warmly welcomed individual, I would highly recommend Grace Christian School! You will see the difference immediately and be thankful you made the switch!
Grace Christian School is a school where my child is nurtured, encouraged, and taught to think with a Christian World View. I'm thankful for the high test scores, a safe, loving environment, but the reason I Iove sending my children to Grace is that they care about helping my children succeed in life.
This school is for the person who believes in a wholesome Christian education. But for people of other reasons, such as the feeling of safety that you can't get from these public schools in Huntington. First of all, the curriculum is way to easy and is probably not up to the standards of some colleges but are fine for the local college, where most go if not to BJU. The teachers are the next problem as they lack diversity. If you look at their credentials, every single one of them went to BJU. They all believe the same things. But that's where the third problem comes in. In this school, you are expected to believe everything they say, at home, school, or any other place you can think of. They have no exceptions or discussions. People who think differently are 'outcasts' and are verbally mocked in the school, like my child was.
I love Grace Christian School. I am a parent of a high achieving student and a proud graduate. Our school's test scores are consistently ranked in the upper nintieth percentile in the nation which is a far cry from local public schools. The school's focus is on college prep and not 'jock' prep. If you want a good academic focus Grace is for you however if you are only a sport emphasis family then by all means stay away.
As a parent of three graduates of GCS, I can say unequivocally that they all received an excellent overall education. My children attended from Kindergarten through 12th grade. The curriculum can be challenging at times but that is what encourages children to learn. If everything is easy or can be accomplished with little effort, then nothing is learned. My children sometimes struggled, but with the support and love of our family and teachers, they were able to do their best -which is all anyone can expect. My children had no problems with college, as a matter of fact, they were far more prepared and better equipped than many of their college friends. If you are looking for an excellent overall Christian education (academics, fine arts, sports), I highly recommend it!
As a parent of 2 GCS graduates that went k-12 I can't say enough good about the school The curriculum is challenging, but my kids were encouraged to do well. My children went to college well prepared and were very successful in college and now in life.
High school academics aren't anywhere near the level of the nearby public high school, Huntington High. The classes are easy for brighter students, and teachers have a mentality of suspecting non-conformity as the signs of a 'troublesome' child. My daughter consistently got into trouble for writing essays that were 'too well-written to be created by a student,' even though she regularly proved that she was highly intelligent, especially in English. I personally watched her write an essay and she brought it back home with an F circled on top with the word 'plagiarism' beside it, in the teacher's handwriting. This has happened here several times, and the schools' narrow-minded methods and selective discipline, combined with the lack of extracurricular opportunities and a confined, lack-luster curriculum finally encouraged us to pull our children out. Our oldest daughter has done extremely well at Huntington High and is very happy. Grace was a great, stifling disappointment.
I'm a 7th grade student and i love the teachers and other students there.
My kids attended Grace for a few years. We were not satisfied with the curriculum used, the administration, the sports program or the overall experience. The rules are very strict and difficult to adhere to. When we switched to public school, my kids were actually behind...therefore had to be brought up to level with the help of after school tutoring. I would not recommend this school.
My daughter attends grace christian. I can say from my experience that her last teacher has a lot to be desired! I was not impressed at all. This combined with the feeling that you weren't good enough unless you could pay the extra 100's of dollars they wanted as 'donations' was enough to make me start looking elsewhere!
It is a good school, but we felt like it was just getting too expensive and that they were trying to compete with the public schools in a lot of areas, and the parents were paying the cost for that. You should also know that it does state in the paperwork that if the tuition is not kept current, your child will not receive a report card and won't be permitted to come to school if the account is three months or more behind. That is punishing the child for something that is beyond their control and can cast a bad reflection on the school.
My son and daughter attended Grace Christian for 10 years, but left due to lack of sports and other extracurricular activities. The academic's at the school were average, but the extracurricular was lacking and therefore, our children were not getting the full experience desired. The school does have extremely strict rules and policies that are expected to be adhered to both at school and at home.
