you think this school cannot get worse but every year it does!! I hate this school. it is too full and i dont think the teachers keep you informed of anything that goes on. 1 teacher has 27-30 kids in her class and i dont think they actually care about any student having trouble comprehending all the information they throw at them all day. this school is horrible and i would not recommend it to anyone

I spent nine years at KPMS. I can honestly say that all of the teachers there are nothing short of amazing, and most seem extremely dedicated to teaching their classes. I have had a couple of teachers inspire me to follow their career paths, one of them a long-term substitue I had for a little more than a semester. I'm going to miss a lot about KPMS next year, but what will be the hardest to let go of is those few teachers I had that were such a big influence on my life!

First off, I have to say the school is very crowded. Lockers have been there for decades, when books were smaller. That means the lockers are smaller too, making it very uncomfortable for the student. Teachers discipline very fairly though, save some. Some teachers are completely aloof and subsitutes are even worse. Their are some dedicated teachers, but most don't go into much detail unless asked. Several tasks the teacher is required to hand out is shoved upon the student without any guidance. They have a very nice and dedicated band. Their educational level is very high, yet I can't say it is a very good place for a child to grow up.

I moved to Keyser from cumberland. I found that the education level is more advanced here. My child learned more in two months here than 1/2 a year in cumberland.

I have noted an organized, academic, and quality school. Big school, but a lot of quality learning going on. There are positive rewards for kids and they do have 7th and 8th grade girls and boys BB teams, as well as, intramural sports for after school in grades 6-8. Many people choose to transfer their children from other parts of the county to this school. Primary teachers are highly trained and dedicated to both education and the children. Reading First School. PTA is available and always welcoming parental involvement. The Read Aloud Program and Accelerated REader Programs are other ways parent can be involved.

This school is going downhill. They have no school basketball team or anything of the sort. The teachers are amazing, especially Mr. Zinn, but overall, the school is horrible. I usually don't have anything to complain about at my schools, but this one is the worst one (out of 7) that I've attended. I recommend not sending your kids here.

Horrible School. There are many great teachers. It would appear they don't want parent involvement by the stupid rules they have. I have been a student there since kindergarten and over the years they keep making wackier rules. They keep trying to put more kids in but it's full. Overall it is a less than perfect school with lots of room for improvement.

One of the worst schools on planet earth! I never even thought about home schooling until I moved to Keyser! I've raised five kids, who all attended public school in other states with positive results. Within 3 months of my two youngest attending Keyser PMS, I made the difficult decision to take them out of public school and teach them at home. I felt I had no other choice. That was in 2001. We are now planning to relocate to another state, and I hope to put the kids back into public school there. I am researching, and carefully choosing a good school and we will buy our new home based on attendance area of the best schools. I regret not doing that before moving to Keyser. If you care about your kids' education, steer clear of this school!

This school has some excellent teachers, but in the most part they do not care about the students. They would rather punish good kids and ignore the one who need help. The principals will encourage you to home school your children when bully's are beating them up everyday instead of helping them. The teachers will charge kids money to rent pencils from them if they forget theirs and not let them go to their lockers. This school is the only one in the area, so you have no choice but to send you child to the school or keep them at home. I had to attend this school. It's all about keeping the kids busy and out of their hair now. It is such a shame that a school once so good has turned so bad.
