My children have attended the school, beginning in the preschool division. I currently have students at both levels (preschool and elementary). I cannot imagine them getting the Christian values, academic excellence or overall atmosphere anywhere else that matches or even comes close to North Christian School. The mission is to help students "to develop strong Christ-like character and academic excellence in a safe Christian environment" and this is so true in many aspects. My children have grown so much in their walk with Jesus while attending North. Their level of learning has been raised because of the excellent structure of education. I am thankful for the opportunity to send my children to North Christian School! We are honored to represent the church and school proudly!
As a parent of two children in the school, I couldn't be more pleased with North Christian School. The biblical teaching, academic quality, and the administration's tireless investment makes NCS an school I feel blessed beyond belief to have influencing, educating, and growing my kids.
I'm thrilled with the education that my kids have received at North and continue to receive each day. They have attended North since they were babies in the nursery (when it was the Early Learning Center). One is now in the elem. school and the other is in PreK. My oldest was reading way before I could've imagined... something I credit to an amazing Kindergarten teacher. The PreK classes have been wonderful as well. The PreK program added specials (Spanish, PE class, etc.) last year. The teachers and staff truly love these children! Not only are they learning so much, but they are being encouraged in their Christian walk. Despite their young age, they know God loves them so much, that Jesus died for them, and they've accepted Jesus as their Lord in Savior... priceless. This of course wasn't something just taught at school, but it's another place they could encouraged in their faith. The PTO is just one example of lots of parents and teachers working together to do fun things for the students and their family, as well as, showing appreciation for our teachers and staff. I feel so blessed my children have the opportunity to attend NCS. I highly recommend this school.
North Christian School reflects its mission every day: to help students develop strong Christ-like character and academic excellence in a safe, Christian environment. NCS teaches the traditional academics of public schools with the added emphasis on a Christian education and developing the character that reflects it. There are many extra curricular activities available, a highly credentialed and loving Christian staff, a secure facility with the latest in technology integration, strong level of parent involvement and higher than the national average scores on standardized tests.
The school promotes a safe and nurteruing enviroment for all children. The education there is far above the schools around with children who won the state science fair for West Virginia to mention just one of the many achievements of the children. There milestones could not have been reached without the dedication of the staff and teachers.
My child has attended North since he was an infant starting in their daycare, graduating from the Pre-K program and now in the school. I love that my child is receiving his elementary education in a wholesome Christian environment by teachers who truly love all of the students. The student to teacher ratio is another awesome aspect, no student gets left behind. I can't say enough about this great school!! Stop in for a tour and just like I was, you'll be glad you did!
This school leaves a lot to be desired! 14 kids to 1 teacher.. and no teachers aids. This school has poor leadership-- poor. They are not guided by county/state laws and march to the beat of their own drum.. while that is fantastic in many ways--- the drawbacks to the liberties this school takes outweigh the positive. The PTA is ran by the same 5 people (teachers) who do not welcome new parents to the club. Take your children elsewhere!
