The teachers at this school are lovely (very kind, hard working and supportive). However, the school is behind academically. This may be in direct relationship to county and state standards, as well as teacher performance. I'm very disappointed and believe my children are capable of much more than the minimal education provided in accordance with new grade level lows. The principal is unfriendly and has been rude to my children over things they have zero control over (e.g., barking at them when they arrive late). He frightened my 6 year old. He doesn't deal well with adults either. Parental involvement is encouraged so long as donations/supplies are needed and discouraged when they're not. I very much dislike the letters I've received stating "parents are not permitted".
when my brother went to school there it was excellent. however they have closed several schools down and makeing them one school its just too much they cry and want parent involment but then get mad when parents do show. they sent papers home all the time 'no parents'. and the principal had no people skills. i know of parents movein just to change schools.
My child completed her 4th year at PCES. It is a wonderful school that addresses the individual needs of each student. My daughter had access to many hands-on activities and was well prepared for entry into the Middle School this year.
